I assume you're being sarcastic, but my iX HD's definitely feel stiffer than my billy sports. That's where I'm coming from.

I have heard second gen mr2 strut cartridges fit the front, and camaro rear shocks. Both are available as adjustables for much less then bilstiens

I don't think the MR2 struts are going to be any good. Front struts from a rear engine car?

You use the rear MR2 struts for the front of an e30.

It doesn't matter what car they are off of, or where they were located on the car. The only thing that matters is the valving. And unless you know the valving, you're just throwing random parts on the car. Just because it fits in the strut housing doesn't mean anything.

Not to be a dick, but that's why it's important to use facts (the Bilstein valving data) instead of subjective opinions. I'm not sure how you could think iX HD's 'feel stiffer' then RWD e30 Sports/HD's. I've had a couple sets of both in my hands (both brand new and used) at the same time, and there is no comparison. The iX HD's take almost no effort to compress, while the RWD Sports take a lot of force to move. That 'testing' at a very low compression speed obviously, which is why it's important to have the valving info as well.

I have two e30's currently, one with 315lb/in H&R Races and Billy sports, the other with 450lb/in coilovers and the iX HD's. The one with the iX HD's is terrible over bumps, you can feel it compressing so much more then it should be and bouncing back really hard over every bump. I don't see how anyone can think that it "rids fine". It's terrible, you might as well just not even have shocks installed. They are so overpowered by the springs that they aren't doing much of anything.

I know ride quality is subjective, but the goal is to keep the tire on the ground and the chassis as level as possible over bumps. With 450lb springs and ix HD's, it doesn't happen anywhere near as well as an e30 does stock, or with H&R's/billy's, or many other combos. That's not subjective, that's a fact. I guess how much you're willing to sacrifice ride quality and handling is the subjective part. Some people don't seem to notice, somehow.

I just bought another set of iX HD's to send in to Bilstein to have revalved because I can't stand how the front of of my car feels.

yes and no, you need to make a spacer about 3" long and replace the bearing in the USB.
I put pics up from when I was running GE/AGX stuff:
