Agreed......or any decent looking 15" wheel for that matter. Depending on the brand, you can easily find 15" wheels for under $100/each. I was at tires.com yesterday and saw some 5-spoke 16x7s for $99/each.

Just look around. Deals are out there....you just have to find them.

to answer your question, you can get 195/60-14s. you can get smaller (I saw a cabrio with 50 profiles on bottlecaps yesterday ) but it's not a good idea.

^ agreed, just lower your car. My '91 318is has the stock basketweaves which I dig and is lowered so that the tire just about fills the wheel well and it looks great IMO.

I was looking for an answer to my question. I have a 2.0 in drop and i have 205/40/17's on my car, and i grew up in germany and saw e30's, a2's, opel's, running basketweaves with what i think was 175/45/14 don't quote me..

any more help on the 6in wide wheel? thanks
Besides getting RS's obvious, low profile in the states on 14" basketweaves
            thanks

My car for suggestions/slandering/oppinions/options, etc :D

You guys are friggin idiots. He wants tire recomendations for his Mk2.

Run the proper size for that car. I have a friend with an Mk1 w/ 15x7 e30 basketweaves running 195/45-15s and they look friggin sick. I would say maybe a 205/50 would be good for your car but I'm not sure. Check your owners manual for the stock tire size and we can go from there. You can fit just about any reasonable profile tire on those wheels, width wise you are good from 175-205mm.

dude... let him get the tire size he wants... he doesn't want to hear it looks gay..... he might not be a street racer who wants his car to perform well... he wants it to look different and stand out from the crowd. i think if you could find some 175/45/14's that would look fricken awsome.....

the next set of tires i purchase will be 195/40/16 continentals for my 16x9's..... as soon as the eagle f1's are smoked
