Wow the P-shop pics do the justice.. The 840R's don't look good. Thanks for setting me straight guys.
The the 540 wheels look slick. 8) I can't believe I overlooked them. In my opinion theyn are better than the bbs rgr, rx, and compmotive cxns. Can someone p shop the 540's on my ride for me?
Tks..
Jim
Good good. I say go with Alex's suggestion. The 540 is hella tight, but don't suit the E30. (I still think you're dropping hella $$$ on wheels)But if you're going to go HRE, get the 545. I have a soft spot for 5 spokes.
My sucky P-shopping skills. (and I couldn't find many 545 head-on pics) But you get the idea. The second is really hard, you're car is at an angle, the perspective is difficult. Oh well, you get the picture.
sic
or you could save yourself $4k, and buy my Borberts! ;)
p.s. I missed when you said you're ditching the slushbox, good for you! 8) :D
jesus, your WHEELS are going to be worth more than the car. if it were me with the 5.5g's i would get some ssr compittions and a fucking turbo setup.
if u sit down and think about what other amazing things you could get for your car for $5500 you might change your mind. those wheels arnt gona make your car godly, they might actually make it ugly.
Andre those are the most absurd RS's I've ever seen good gravy.
As for my choice of all those expensive wheels, I say get what you want, but if you want my opinion on which, I say get the BBS RGR's. They come in 17", and I think 17" is the biggest anyone should go on an E30 (non M3), and they're super light and hot. I'll do a photoshop of them on your car later.
*EDIT* Here you go. Yea they're 5 lug but you know they come on 4 lug and fit E30's and all. And with the money you save not buying HRE's you could possibly get a 5 lug suspension!
I'd go BBS as well with some badass tires for that kinda cash. BBS are just cleaner looking IMO. I spent about $4000 on my car this year but I got a whole lot more than a set of silly looking wheels.
dish is good, achieving it by pushing the center out and moving the spokes in is not.
Jim, if you are planning on doing a turbo or S50 or whatever, don't go spending thousands of dollars on 4-lug wheels. Do a 5-lug conversion, then you've got a lot more options as far as high-end wheels go. My 2 cents.
You my freind are way out of line :!:
Those comments have made me very close to dropping some serious magic wordage...
All respect I had for u is lost bro.

on a side note, SO-3's (like everything on your car) is a waste of money. Your slushbox doesnt require such a tire, and they wear very quickly.
Seriously jimmy, wtf? 5500 for wheels, and another G for tires. That's 6500 bucks into a car that isn't worth 2k. I have never understood your taste (or lack thereof) in wheels. Take some of that 5k in trust fund/mommy-daddy money that's burning a hole in your pocket, pick up some 15 inch OEM bbs's or real 16 inch alpinas, and go that route. Buy some euro bumpers, and pull those stupid tail lights off. After that, don't touch the car.
As for the people that say "those that don't like the HRE's can't afford them", I retort with this, I can afford them, and I still think they're ugly. I don't even think I'd throw those on the e36. If I was spending that, I'd go with a set of fikse's.
As for e30 plans for the new year? Nothing grandiose. General R&R on the car, new SS brake lines, caliper rebuild, and a basic overhaul on the suspension Urethane eveything, motor mounts, tranny mount, diff mount, all suspension mounts. Then I gut the car and put the bar in.
Oh yea, merry christmas to y'all, even if you have a slushbox.
