Is that a fact? Because i didnt actually read the thread, i just commented on how stupid it was that people were fighting over it.

The 545s look like ass-and-a-half! Save your money and get some better looking wheels (read: the BBS RX!!!) Or do the 5-lug swap and get some BBS LMs... be right back, I've gotta go change my shorts every time I think about the LMs.

HREs will break if you ever race your car. HRE will then tell you they arent covered because they are not a performance wheel. Its happened here twice.

Good looking but not for being driven on.
              Im now E30less.

I'll do the math to solve this debate.

                -BBS RX 17" (silver, non-Chrome) wheels: $1200.00
                -Yokohama AVS ES100 tires: $450.00
-Smith and Wesson .38 revolver: $400.00
                -1 bullet: ~$0.14
-Not having to hear Jim's dumb ideas about how to waste even more of his parents' money ever again: priceless

There - for under $2500 everyone can be happy.

As for my choice of all those expensive wheels, I say get what you want, but if you want my opinion on which, I say get the BBS RGR's. They come in 17", and I think 17" is the biggest anyone should go on an E30 (non M3), and they're super light and hot. I'll do a photoshop of them on your car later.

*EDIT* Here you go. Yea they're 5 lug but you know they come on 4 lug and fit E30's and all. And with the money you save not buying HRE's you could possibly get a 5 lug suspension!
I keep telling you guys, if you're gonna spend that cash: http://www.fikse.com/ is the only way to go.

                    -Charlie
damn bro..I am not that big on Fiske. If I spent that much on wheels I would buy Kinesis. :)

First off: Jim, is any of this even your own money? Have you paid for anything on your car at all? I remember you saying your parents pay for all your mods... well shit, you must pleasure your mom good to get a turbo, 5 speed, and $6.5k in wheels and tires in one summer.

Second, HRE's are pretty damn bling-bling to be matched up with your OEM restoration of a fairy-blue 4 door '88. At least get the silver finish instead of full polished.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

i don't think your current wheels are that bad. i wouldn't rock them, but to each their own, and you are entitled

i would def worry about a 5 sp swap before dumping loot on wheels. to me, automatic is like you're not even driving the car. just push a pedal and go.

i agree that you should get into autox events and drivers school, it will be good for anyone

im sure he doens't care, but I agree that jordan's comment was over the top. a lot of people are sensitive about things like their BEST FRIEND DYING. which is understandable. but, you have already let everyone know the caliber of your personality, so I'm not that surprised to be honest.

My dad has classic car insurance on his fully restored '71 datsun 240z. that thing is buuttteerrr. i think he has a mileage cap, but they've never checked it in the 20 years he's owned the car (i don't know how long it's been under classic car insurance, probably since 96). i am working on a 240z, and my insurance quoted me $80 a year for my Z.

if you want to spend that much on wheels, go for it. it's your car. but i would recommend getting a few other things out of the way on it, first. good luck whatever you do

Nuts to wheels, if you're going to spend money on jewelry at least get something functional.

                            I'd get this

But then again, the perfect set of wheels in my opinion are 16in and weigh 18lbs...
