    Yeah that'll do it.

A 17x8 with E30 M3 hubs can be all the way up at ET30. That's how you get 235s on.

        Yet another question, Jay.

What tire sizes would you recommend for 17x8 ET20 all around with E30 M3 5 lug? 215/40/17? Would I need any spacers?

        Thanks again.

My wheels are 16x7 and I have the opportunity to get a killer deal on a brand new set of 205/50R16's. This is for the convertible, which is currently running 215/40R16's. What do you guys think?

Yup, 215/40/17 is good. You'll still most likely need a minor fender roll in the back, and no spacers.

Well, that is the correct tire diameter. 215/40/16 is undersized and causes your speedo and odo to read high/fast. People mainly use that size for stretched fitments, as it gives more fender clearance when mounted on 9" and wider wheels.

What's the offset on your 16x7s?

I don't know if this has been asked before, but anyone fit a 245/40/17 on a 17x7 rim? Im just curious because i found some tires i want but the guy is selling 2 215/40/17 and 2 245/40/17 together. I only want the 215/40's, but am still wondering if the 245's would fit, i doubt. Also if anyone has actually done this before pictures?

Correct is subjective. 195/45/16 and 215/40/16 provide an even stretch and matching diameters, and are the easiest to fit under stock fenders (just needs a roll in the rear).

205/45/16 and 225/40/16 have the same benefits, but will require quite a bit more rear fender modification.

                      205/50/16 and 225/45/16, more so.

225/40/16 and 245/35/16, even more so.

It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Well, if 215/40/16 works then the 205/50 probably will too. And it's technically "better".

I've seen it done, but don't recommend it, at all.

A 245/40/17 is also a massive tire for an E30, unless the offset was PERFECT and the fenders were rolled, it won't fit.

                            Hey Mystikal,
you have helped me out before but I got a quick question here. I have 16x7 wheels and currently running 205/50/16. I want to go 215s but was thinking of getting 215/40/16s because I can get the Yokohoma S drives in that size which get better ratings than the hancooks RS2. Would that size work or should I stay with 215/45/16 which are a little squishier?

Oh ya, and I am rolled so my current tires dont rub. H&R Race with Billys sure help.
