the only reason the rears are bigger is... shit ionno i figured it would look sick
You'd need spacers, and staggered diameters are fine as long as you get the tire sizes right.

I'd recommend 20mm spacers on the front, 15mm spacers on the back, 215/40/17 tires front, 215/35/18 tires rear.

By no means a cheap setup, but it'd look pretty damn good.

Okay Jay, my roommate has an E36 325is on Billy Sports w/ HR race, fenders rolled flat with DS2s with 245/40/17? All the way around. (yes, 245 on the 7.5s) Thing is, he wants to space it out flush. 20mm in the back, 10mm up front sound about right?

Little fact: I consider the staggered E36 M3 wheel setup by far the most aggressive OE fitment BMW ever produced. By this, I mean the rear 17x8.5 +41 wheel with 245/40/17 tire leaves very, very little room to spare. Even with a 10mm in the back, you'd need to roll the fender pretty aggressively.

Also, 245s on a 17x7.5 doesn't make any sense. That's just too much tire, he'd end up with MORE understeer than if he ran a proper 225 or 235.

I'd suggest running a 235/40/17 all around and then using some spacers for fitment. If he gets really aggressive with a roller and heat gun, 15mm is possible in the back. I'd still stick with 10mm all around, personally.

Edit: Just reread and saw that he already has the 245s. Stick to the 10mm advice.

His setup pretty much requires the early body E30 to pull off. I have yet to see a late model run 225/45/16 on 16x9s successfully.

Run a broad 215/45, like the new Kumho XS or the tried and true Falken RT615. Both will look nice and meaty.

crap thanks for the advice. 214/45 are so much more expensive than 225/45 tho

Looking to pick up some wheels:

                17 x 7.5 ET35

                Tires are 225/45/17.

Will these fit on a 89 325i thats dropped on billysports.

Sorry for the very basic question, but do you know of any BMW factory 15" wheels that clear Euro E36 M3 brakes? Not taking into account spacers, rubbing struts or anything like that, just clearance of brakes...

I doubt these will, but figure I'd ask here

Tires are too big. If you downsize to a 205/40/17 or 215/40/17 they will fit.

I don't think ANY will. Think about it, the rotor is 12.8", the caliper sticks out another inch on top of that, and the wheel is at least an inch thick on each side. It's simply not gonna happen.

If you ever see those few 16s on top of the brakes, you'll witness the few mm of space there is leftover. 15s are not a realistic goal.

                        Thanks mate. I'll keep the 15s I scored for burnout rims/spares :)

17x8.5 ET13 wheels with 215/40/17 front and rear. My suspension is GC coil-overs with Koni shocks. Will they fit a late model E30?

Can anyone chime in on where to find some Oldskool wheels, with 3" lip?
                                Size: 15x8.0 4x100 +25.
I'd done some searching but all am getting is Work Equip 03 and OG Oldskool by Axis wheels. I love the 70-80's wheels, those where the day's when wheels had a nice deep lip...
