[quote=E30Beast2B;1590085]hey what a thread!! well currently i'm running basketweaves 14" and have been wanting to get something else. Spinning out in the rain on an onramp into the median to I-95 has accelerated my move. I'm on a budget and was thinking of buying a set of 16" sportmax wheels maybe even 17" even though I can't find any 17's with the right offset. will I need to change to different lug bolts if i get the sportmax w/ offset 15?[/quote

no you won't you might have to run some tuner lug nuts

      Hi,

I have the following setup listed below, and would appreciate if anybody can help me identify which would the correct spacer size I need to avoid rubbing from the stuts/shocks and fender.

      Wheels: 15x7.5
      Offset: et 37 running
      Tires: 205/55x15
Suspension: M3 Springs / Bilstein Touring Shocks

Spacer required - 12.5mm or 15mm (Both sizes are available as a hubcentric spacer)

      Thanks in advance.

I'm asking because I don't really have the time to read through 160+ pages. I purchased a set of Borbet B's 16x7.5 et20, I'm pretty sure they fit but I just want to know if they will fill out the fender nicely without spacers? I'm going to wait to put them on until I drop it. The car is an early model. Also what tire size should I be looking at? I like stretch but nothing too drastic just a little bit. I'm planning on having the fenders rolled.

        Thanks
        Brian.

            Wheel Fitment question

I have a set(4) of Schmidt Line Revolutions that i plan on putting on my E30. They are 4x100,16x9, ET15. I am wanting to know what size tire I can run on them without the danger of fender rub. If there is potential to rub, explain to me what steps I have to take to mount them safely. Another problem I have is that I trusted the guy I bought the wheels from to send me the hub centric rings. They never showed up. I do have one ring thatfits perfectly. There are quite a few shops here in my area (Southeast Florida) that will make rings for you, but the quality is suspect. the custom rings are made of aluminum and I hear they have a tendency to crack. By the way if there is anyone out there who wants to trade a pair of the same wheels in a 4x100, 16x7, ET15, let me know. I would be happier running 16x9 in the rear and 16x7 in the front. We can do an even swap and each person pays for their own shipping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:)

              wheels: oem 14" bottlecaps
              tires: p205/75/r14

              1) aside from cosmetic issues, are there any problems running this setup on a 325ix w/ stock suspension?
              2) would these come close to fitting a RWD e30 which rides on H&R sport springs + Bilstein sports?

I know I won't be as quick as on my 195/65/r14's, but I look at it the same as I would swapping in a taller differential.

This question is for the e36 and not e30 but BF.c is not that much help.

                I have a e36 m3 with BBS rx 17x8 wheels ET 38

I want to run 245/40-17 in the front but don't know if I will need spacers or not.

any help would be much appreciated.

                  HI,

I am running 15x8 wheels with 215/50R15 BF tires, I am thinking in running a 225/45R15 Toyo R1R, this tire is not available in 225/50R15,

will the 225/45R15 be a good choise being around 23" tall or is it too small?

                  Thanks, Mario

That will not work safely. 15mm front and 20mm rear would be semi-flush, and you could still run 215/40/17 tires.

edit: or can you guys suggest a thicker tire that would work. im lowered on vogtlands so about 1.7 inches all around.
The taller tire will reduce fender clearance slightly, but with a 205, you should be okay with just a minor rear fender roll.

Possible, but really starting to push it.

If they require tuner bolts, yes. If they don't, then no.

I believe it was your PM i just responded to? In any case, either spacer will work 100% fine.

They will fit nicely without spacers, but they won't be exactly flush. And you really can't stretch anything onto a 7.5" rim when it comes to E30s.

I'd flat out just get 225/45/16 tires and enjoy the meaty look. The wheels have the perfect specs for that, you won't even touch the fenders.

Unless you have an '84 model, you will need 3-5mm spacers to safely clear the front struts. This, plus 205/45 or 215/40 tires and mildly rolled rear fender lips is the common recipe.
