I was thinking 215/40 up front w/ 245/35 in the rear so they would be the same diameter. or is there a size in between that I could fit on both rims? Any suggestions?
Those are pretty much ideal rim specs. Interesting.

Your tire idea is excellent, and with your '87 rear arches you have a decent chance of getting the 245s back there. Still, expect to be doing some fender rolling back there.

You could also go for 235/40/17 all around. But this would actually require more work on the rear fenders, due to the taller sidewall.

I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before and I know this is an e30 Forum...
      I just bought a '96 328is...
I've had an '84 325e for years and I still have it, but I am new to the e36 world..
I wanna buy some wheels and suspension for the e36...
I am probably going with GC coilovers for the drop...
For the wheels, I am probably going with 18's or even 19's...
If I want a flush fitment with no staggered wheel widths (unless I should run staggered widths on an e36), what offset am I looking for?
What wheel width do I want, Front and Back?
What is the max tire width I can go with the max wheel width you recommend?
And what is the stock Hub bore on an the e36?
I like the set-up you got going in your sig.
Finally, do you know of a good e36 factual website like Strictly eta is to the e30?
Thanks for your help. You should be paid for this. I only hope you can answer my questions before you decide to throw in the towel.
E36s are happiest with non-staggered tires.
Offset depends on rim width, and also what you consider "flush".
The widest tire you can get on all around is about a 255. This works well on a 9" rim.
      72.56mm hubs.
Strictlyeta is badass, and the E36 world can't handle such levels of awesome.
      I should be paid.

I've seen those on an early E30, but it still rubbed I'm pretty sure.

Smaller is a better idea. 215/40/17 all around.

205/40/17, and heavy fender rolling. Heavy.

I have 15x7 BBS RS +25, for front and rear, and i am running 205/50/15s.
Can i run 20mm spacers all the way around?
Not without a lot of fender work. Even a 10mm will require fender rolling.

any of these wheels work w/o modification and what tire recommendations

All of the above need spacers. Are you looking for wide tires?

I'm looking for as wide as I can go without major surgery..

                as for spacers,

front 5mm, and back 10mm? will this work?

                  what about

225/45-17 front on 17x7.5" et41 (DSII) rims on my daily/drifting. I tend to rub in the inside back/frame at full lock. spacers? caster? I can adjust camber and caster to some extent on kmac plates.

                  For my track rims.

                  245/40-17's front and rear on 17 x 7.5's et41 (DSI rims)
the front may rub on the frame/inside at full lock. I won't turn in that much unless i spin out.

currently running 235/40-17 RA-1 tires. finding affordable r-compounds on 245/35-17 may be difficult if they even exist.

yeah I didn't think the tires I had would fit, they were e36 fitment.

the guy I'm getting the car from has dsI's on it now, 17x7.5 all around, and he's running 235/40/17 all around. (may have rolled the fender lips I don't know). are dsI's the same offset as m contours?

So I could do the 235/40/17 up front, but what should I do in back considering it's an 8.5" wide wheel? Same thing and stretch it? or will it rub?

                      Sorry, I should clarify...
To me flush fitment is just inside the fenders... enough to be able to turn while slammed with stock camber... no stretch or poke....
I am trying to buy some wheels and I want just the right offset without spacers...
If I want to run the same wheel width at all 4 corners, would the offsets be the same?
Which wheel would give me the 'flush' fitment I want, a 18x8 et35 or et40?
                      How about a 19x8 et35 or a 19x8.5 et 38?
Ok, and finally, do you know what stock wheel width and offset are for my '97 328is? Where could I find that kinda info?
Thats it... no more q's... Thanks Jay.

Wheel and tire help ! ?

I have a 1986 325 with Bilstein Sports and h&r springs. Is a staggered set up on an E30 stupid? Looking at possibly purchasing some used wheels, 4x100 - 16X7.5 (f), and 16X9 (r). What kind of tire set up is best or will work? or is 9 just too much?
Any advise or help is appreciated . .
