your considering Rota's but asking about the quality of Tire racks wheels?

Google Image "rota fail" for some fun.

I'd go with the 15x8 Tire Rack wheels with 225/50/15 star specs

wow, lol I had no clue - I am unfamiliar with many of these wheels - on my e46 I ran square m68's and called it a day as far as light wheels go. I wanted something more dramatically lighter for the e30. Do you have other suggestions?

also tire rack does not sell star specs in that size only a 205/50/15

None on the front and 15mm on the rear will look great. Not the same, but it's hard to achieve the same poke given the same tire clearance with a narrower wheel.

16x9.5, et 35 on an E30, 5 lug with coilovers. What kinda spacers are needed?
E36 5 lug? Which coilovers? Your setup is unique enough that I may not be able to give you a precise answer.

basically I want the widest and the cheapest :)

              things under consideration

Rota Slipstreams - 14lbs - can get 15x7.5 for 500 bucks for the set on 18wheels.com

TR - C1's - 13.6lbs - tirerach 88 bucks a piece- total price like 370 - seems like a good deal but how strong are these wheels really? 15x7 or 99 a piece for 15x8

Dforce LTW 15x7 - 13lbs- nice but pricy

Now I plan on eventually getting a RX7 front brake upgrade and want to run at least 225 all around. square setup - what is the best wheel for this, also I would rather buy used rather than new if anyone is seling a set especially with tires let me know i have cash ready. no more than $500
Get the C1's. The 15x7 will more easily slip 225s under the bodywork, while the 15x8 will of course provide more mechanical grip. But to get the 15x8 on with 225s requires a lot of fender manipulation.

No, you will need 15mm spacers all around. Go to 18racing.com for E30-fitment Slipstreams (+20-25 offset).

On this note, am I going to need spacers for my 225/45-15 Hankooks on my C1s? I'm looking at my current 205's and I've got maybe 3-5mm of clearance. I'l also lowered on the Cosmo kit, about an inch from the bottom, and I have the M3 CABs.

I am not scared or intimidated by fender manipulations :)

however the extra weight makes me wonder- if you take that and the 10 dollar difference out of the equation would you rather run the 15x8 or the 15x7?

also at about the same price there is the Team Dynamics Pro race at 13.2 lbs and the Dforce LTW (bav has bronze at 99 bucks) at 13.0lbs even

A set came up locally for sale for $180 in great shape. Might still pick them up. What size tire would you recommend? I have a set of 205/55/16 laying around.. Thanks for your help!

I am really looking at the sportmax 501 - at 15.5 lbs in a 15x8 they seem like a good deal. 350 shipped for a new set of wheels that seem to hold up to abuse well.

the ones I was looking at were et15. My question is this. where do you guys get your rubber? cause tirerack doesnt carry a 225/50-15 star spec and niether does onlinetires.com

I am a little lost. Thanks.

Hi Mystikal, I´d like to fit these wheels on a stock (for now) suspension, late model E30. I´m not sure of the offset. I wouldn´t be surprised if that number is in your memory bank. It´s a staggered set, tires are 235/40/18 F (8 inch) and 255/40/18 R (9 inch). I was planning on using the 4-to-5 lug adapters someone sells here. Fender rolling seems kind of obvious and flaring wouldn´t be an issue. I´m only concerned about overall diameter. What do you think? Can it be pulled off?

Then there´s a second E30, with bilstein sport and vogtland springs in which we want to achieve an aggresive stance. Sticking out a little, some fat (as in wiiide) rubber, kind of like the pic kreasims posted, just not necessarily stretched or with that much camber. What are some good options on 15 or 16inch? Not talking about styles or brands, but measures (offset, width, tires, spacers). Which is a good and not overly-expensive route to go? Thanks a lot for all you´ve been doing to the E30 community!

^Yeah....what can I say...I like my tires just like my women: fat, black, round shaped.

Yo, I've been checking your build thread and the spreadsheet. Keep up the good work!!
