Hey there, thanks in advance for your advice.
I have a 91 vert, stock sport suspension springs and koni adjustable yellows. I do not want to roll fenders. Not a lot of drop in my set up as intended. I would like to run APEX ARC-8s with the most comfortable tire available ie high side wall. From research 215/40R17 would work no problem, but that is a thin tire. I also have read 235/40R17 is possible with no modification. Can I go for a bigger sidewall? or possibly wider with the same ratio?
What are your suggestions for a comfortable tire size with no modification to fenders. Also if I am way off in what makes a comfortable tire correct me. :) "Meatiness" of the tire will help fill out the wheel wells to compensate for me not wanting to drop the car.
Thanks again for all your help!
Edit: I am not opposed to small spacers if necessary. Also need to clarify "comfortable ride"; I do not expect my e30 vert to be an air ride Cadillac, but I have tailored my suspension to be as noise free and solid as possible. It is a vert not a race car, so it is meant for spirited driving around some twisties but I get annoyed with rattles and road noise.Comment

Mystikal,
I have the option of running two different set of wheels. One is a set of 16x7.5 et -4, and the other is a set of 16x8.5 et 8. I'd imagine that the et-4 set seems silly, but could it actually work? (Those set of wheels are a better deal for me)
If I wanted to run the et 8 set, what do I need to get it on? I'm assuming 205/50 is too tall. Is 205/45 ideal or is there a different size I should run? Does the fender require any rolling to make this second set fit?
H&R sports with bilstein sports
Appreciate it!Comment

OK, been lurking forever but never really posted much, if at all. Anyways. Bilstein sport on all four corners, H&R sport on all four corners but one coil cut on the fronts. Wanting to run stock 14x6.5 Basketweaves with 195/60 tires(can't find 195/50 anywhere) as wide as I can with only rolling the fenders. What size spacers will I need? Also would you recommend any better tire sizes. It's just a weekend car.

Hi there!
Doubting which tyres and spacers to get for my BBS 16*8 at front and 16*9 at back. A 15ET for front and 10ET for rear will avoid any fender roll and look good? How about 195/45 at front and 205/40 at back?
Suspension is stock 325 RWD with H&R sport springs and Koni sports, no camber plates and etc. Appretiate for advice.Comment

15mm front 20mm rear. You end up with a sweet +15 and +10 effective offsets. You'll only find decent 14" tires in 195/60 nowadays unfortunately.Comment

The last time I answered this was about a decade ago. I still remember the guy's car after and it looked fantastic. To me the basketweaves and big sidewalls suit the E30 well you just need to shove them outside of the dark depths of the wheel wells.

Hey guys :)
Planning on buying:
Front: 16X8 ET25
Back: 16X9 ET20
Tires: 205/45/16. Maybe 55's cause they are much cheaper, but it ruins the look(anybody with pics of 55's on 16"?)
Car setup: E30 318is lowered on vogtland springs (1,6" drop according to manufacturer)
Any fitment issues here, or is it a simple install and go?Comment

I would like to know what would be the best tire and adapter combo for staggered set of wheels on my sedan. Fenders have been rolled pretty flat.
1990 325i, running hr sport and bilsteins sports. The wheels are 17x8.5 et10 and 17x9.5 et 14Originally posted by csermonet47Vlad, you are handling this quite unprofessionally.
Also, you are a cock with tacky taste.
That is all.Comment
