Mark D chip, intake, and exhaust. Keep the stock header because it's already tubular. M20 flywheel swap. That's all I can think of, my buddy has all of those mods and his car will keep up with a 325i

I had those mods done on my previous 318 and it wouldnt hold a candle to a 325i. That being said I loved that car. So much fun to drive in the turns.

Seeing how slow a 325i is, I shudder to think of what an M42 would be like, much less an M10. From what I've read you can put out 135ish whp with full boltons, but if you actually want to get anywhere in a hurry skip the boltons and go for FI or a built motor.

I only have a free flowing exhaust, and was keeping up with 325iS' in the twistys w/my stock suspension. My buddies all had shocks and springs and one even had coilovers. All about the driver! ;)

Meh, I've been thinking about selling the S52 motor and putting an S14 + dogleg in the car. The balance is hard to beat.. I'm going to corner balance it with the coilovers first though, gotta give the S52 pig motor a bit of a chance. Mine doesnt have A/C or P/S and still feels nose heavy compared to the M20. It is fast though, I'll say that much.

M20 flywheel and clutch setup doesnt weigh any less than a M42 flywheel and clutch setup. So its worthless.

Simply swapping the 4.11 diff gears to a 4.45 (318 e36 cabrio) will make the car feel lighter in town. Otherwise, the M42 is a great little engine. The 318i is also more balanced than the 325i for track duty.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

you'd be surprised what power steering will do to your interpretation of nose heavy
