Add a snail to the m20 to build a mild turbo. I don’t get why people try put Uber torque / power in the e30

Won't a stock Tesla outperform your car every day?

It's really hard to cool something adequately when it's going sideways at full power with an intercooler reducing air flow too. I've heard from a local that the 24Vs have issues with heads when drifting too. At that point you're best off tube framing the front of the car so you can install a huge radiator and proper ducting for it. Cooling is really crucial for severe duty and it does not get more severe than drifting. Maybe Australian burnout competitions. Drifting destroys stuff, it's what always kept me away from it despite wanting to try it. Never owned a fun car that I was comfortable with totally destroying just as a matter of course because unless the place you drift is wide open with nothing to hit, hitting something is inevitable.

I've only ever known one person to drift a 4cyl E30. ccsdo5 and there are some issues doing so.
I've been drifting a turbo M42 car for a couple years now. I am probably at the top end of a grass roots car at this point. I make a little over 300whp if I had to guess on 17psi with a gtx2867r. It's much harder to drive a turbo car than a V8 but man the excitement and reward is so worth it.

V8 drifting is the most boring thing in the world, yeah instant torque is nice but not really needed. If you want to get good at drifting you're better off with a simple setup with solid cooling mods, a good seat, suspension, and a handbrake. If you want a quality street/drift car I would say the best option will be turbo the M20 and make like 3-350whp max or go the more conservative route of an M/S52 with a ZF and it'll probably be decent on track and on the street. I learned to drive with my M42 on 7psi with a t25 it maybe made 170hp if I could do it again I would just but an M52 in my car... Swapping a car has never been so easy, but also there is no point blowing the money on a LS swap when cheaper options exist.

Ok, I revise- drop in a Tesla drive pod and batteries, and drift away...
