    Racing Dynamics E30

Have anyone ordered from Racing Dynamics website? I see the M20 header for $525 but I wasn't sure if this is legit or not.

Racing Dynamics is the home of special suspension parts including sway bar kits and strut braces for BMW, MINI and Porsche automobiles for over 28 years.

I ordered some umbrellas, stickers, and a strut bar from them. Initial shipping is based on dollar value, but they refund the extra once they know the actual cost from FedEx.

Although those are RD headers, they aren't the OG ones from back in the day:

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the differences might be? I know IE makes a copy version of RD headers which some of the members raised concern on the quality.

Seems like they're using the new Alibaba business model and slapping their name on Chinese/Taiwanese made parts.

Research the history of racing dynamics. I don't buy the new stuff because of my feelings about it.

The strut bar is still as cool as always. Those headers look just like the cheapo ebay headers that never fit.

OP, I would wait for a set of the original exhausts (or the 1st/2nd re-run) to pop up here or on ebay. The original price was $1300 and that's about what NOS sells for. Otherwise, Schmiedmann makes some that look almost identical to that exhaust, for half the price. Likely still low quality out of china or something.

Hey OP! Here's an original set of RD headers, definitely not one of the 2 re-runs. Price is steep and I'm not affiliated:

Has anyone seen or have pictures of a RD midpipe?

I think I found one locally that would be a direct bolt-on to connect the headers to a catback, but it would be nice to know exactly what I'm looking at.

From the pictures I've seen, the part I'm looking at doesn't have an O2 bung or a cat, just a resonator. It says "Racing Dynamics", but I didn't notice a part number or anything else.

I'm glad you didn't cuz I'm trying to buy it now!

I've got a set of RD headers from the 2nd repro run, and it looks like the flanges are exactly the right size to bolt right up. I've just never seen an RD midpipe.

Do you think it's the right part to replace the cat section on an m20 e30?

I bought RD big brake kit years ago. The only things they had was 3 296x25 mm 4x100 rotors. They had them in plastic bags saying RD all over it. They were made by Alpina and had Alpina logo on them. I bought them for $350. That was a steal.

It looked like the right piece- flanges looked correct and bends looked like they would place that resonator in the trans tunnel.

Would be awesome to pair that midsection with an OG Frank RD header run set!
