you really don't get it, do you? It's not a penny you found and in this case posession is not 9/10ths of the law. And how exactly do you think you can get the owner's info from the VIN? Do you have access to that information? Think about it, if I walked up to your car and grabbed the VIN, then did a search and got your name, address etc I could easily now pass myself off as you, get a key cut, and call it a day. It doesn't work like that my friend. Why do I care? Because when I first read this I was actually pulling for you - I want to see that engine in your car!

And what is your logic about if it is stolen you will NOT touch it? But if it is owned by someone you WILL steal it? You make NO sense.

Careful CAOS, he is much smarter then you even though he is much younger & has learned more in the years that he has learned more then you in the years it's taken you to learn what you know, but is less then what he knows because he knows more then you, even though he has not had as many years to know what you know. Why else would he contact the owner of a car that's rare, sitting behind his friend's shop, pull the motor (for free?), drop it into his perfect e30 & then document his install here on this forum? Of all the places he's called, no one's ever done it before, so he wants us to tell him how to do it.

By the way, I did do this swap & I was going to post here how to do it, but I have to go play with my friends in the real world. You know, the ones that aren't on the interweb & who have a life outside of the computer village you guys seem to hide in. Besides, my friends do not write essays here in cyber land where people give their opinions about things which don't make sense & probably aren't legal but who cares, I know more then you know, or at least my friends do because they are not only younger they are smarter then you. Even though they have not lived as long as you. Oh yeah, they are also better looking & have nicer clothes then you, even though they have not had enough time to learn how to dress appropriately.

geezes i feel like i just read an essay. I contacted a few different bmw shops around where i live. Not one of them said they have put that motor in a e30. Thats why i asked on this forum. I think its funny that from the way i type you think im less of a knowledgable human being? Im much smarter and younger then most of you on here, do not think low of me. Ive learned more in the years i have lived then most of you have. Pretty sure one of the reasons that i've learned so much is that i dont waste my days on the computer like you.

and my logic on this is... if the car was stolen, no im not going to do anything with it. If i find the previous owner im going to ask him if i can have the car or what he/she is doing with it. if they want it, then no im not going to take it. If i cant find out who owned it, then i dont know what im going to do yet.

I'm sorry I wasn't helping out. Things did get out of hand in this thread. I didn't realize you were seriously trying to swap a Dinan M5 motor into your e30, I thought you were just shitting everyone.

Electrical Engineering. The calculus and physics were cake walk compared to the actual engineering classes.
