he's actually right, the posted limits in canada are retarded. 50km/h on a deserted rural road? yeah right..Comment

So you got busted going 74mph in a 62mph?
I'm going to go the other way with this and say you need to go faster to really stick it to those terrorist bastards. The Keystone Killers

I didn't want to get involved, but this takes the cake.lol its not about conforming to anything, its about respecting the safety of others around you. the number ONE killer is speed, and you cant tell me that you're 25 year old car is capable of high speeds safely. use your brains and respect other drivers, if you don't then you deserve the tickets.
Yes, a properly maintained E30 is 'capable of high speeds' more than about 90% of what travels on roads in the US/Canada today. I will go one further and state, with no danger of any factual evidence proving me wrong, that a properly maintained E30 going 100mph down a modern highway is signifcantly safer than an absolutely legal F150 doing the speed limit. This doesn't even go into relative driver competence, which would be a very good topic to bring into the discussion.
As to 'speed being the number one killer', please. The number one killer is lack of attention, followed closely by paying attention and driving through traffic as one would drive through cones at an autocross. *Collision* speed (which is different from travelling speed, see E30 and F150 above) will determine, to a point, the severity of the consequences of the impact... in very broad terms. But saying 'speed is the number one killer' simply ignores present traffic reality: how many people were actually in an accident because they got into a corner too fast for their talent, compared to the ones who didn't pay attention and rear ended / broadsided / ran over someone? At least in an 'enthusiast' forum, let's maintain some contact with reality.Comment

Where? Most rural roads here in Ontario are 80km/h, 70 the lowest.:)
Interesting, Never knew that. They are also illegal here in Ontario.
Oh, yeah the OP is a douche/bastard child/em0 etc....Comment

R3v delivers..OP give it up, take it like a man and get the V1. Oh and stay in canada. I definitely don't wanna be driving next to you when it all goes to shit and you do something retarded at 120+kph.Originally posted by csermonet47Vlad, you are handling this quite unprofessionally.
Also, you are a cock with tacky taste.

I think OP has a point about speed limits, but I also think he wasn't purposely trying to make his point and from his ignorance he spawned something that some people could consider intelligent. Speed limits should be abolished. People generally drive at the speed they feel comfortable (safe) at. People who do not drive at this comfortable speed could be considered crazy, and therefore they will most likely be driving like a maniac (reckless endangerment) This is not always case and I am simply playing devils advocate here but try not to flame me too much :)
Also, OP I have a question for you:
Are you 16? The only people I have ever met who have called someone a conformist is teenagers in high school who think "the man" is holding them down because they got arrested at a party. Although I don't agree with the government in many of its current (and previous) positions, you are not doing anybody any good by calling people with different opinions "conformist" and calling police officers (especially Canadian police lol) terrorist.

There are fines for a reason, to keep speed in check. I myself have moments of law breakage and many tickets but I don't bitch and blame them all on the police and the gobberment.
