For a DD? Probably a TSX with nav. Good handling, high revving engine, nice amenities, and Acura reliability ftw.

Tough choice but I would probably go with a Toyota XRunner or an Imola yellow Audi S4 wagon w/ a 6-spd trans(rare). XRunner can be had in a 6spd as well and has a .91 G rating on the skid pad.... not bad for a truck. I've always wanted an S4 wagon tho. they're just soooooooooo sexy.

I'd have to go with a well sorted stage 3 B5 S4 avant. Or the nicest e46 M3 that 25k would get.

I bring home a decent salary, especially considering the cost of living in Oklahoma, but I'd have to make quite a bit more money per year to even THINK about spending nearly $30k on a car.

But then again the girlfriend and I are about to buy a house, but keeping the expenses low enough that we could afford it on her salary alone.

EDIT: what about something either brand new or only five years old?? Figure you're gonna put 40 miles a day on it.
Even with this edit. I'm still sticking with my first choice. And if i do get a better job here. I made up my mind. I am going to get a Syclone or Typhoon. But for the edit, there is nothing in 2004 that i'd want. Most i'd go would be an 2002 Pontiac Trans Am.

A pristine e36 M3 would make a super daily driver, and will leave you with a lot of cash for strippers...

Well I'm buying an e46 m3 on sat for 18k. I would spend the rest on upgrades.

Honestly....I would fix up my e30 for a daily....right wheel drive with lsd is fun in the snow.....and spend the rest on a 86 or 87 Shelby Dodge Charger GLHS.....always wanted one since I was a wee lad.

That was the original plan but i'm exploring other options too.
I hear rumor that you can't get the classic cloth seats with the sport package.
                          I hope that's not true.

I used to think like you. As a matter of fact I used to think worse - I believe that a car was only a machine to get you from point A to point B and who cares what it looks like or what it does... that changed hella quick when I actually LEARNED about cars. This doesn't happen in diapers for girls like it does for guys. We need a little coaching. Anyways, when I first drove my now-husband's Audi S4 and BMW 330ci ZHP, I started to realize a car was more than just a travel tool. It's a luxury. And luxury costs money. The problem is that now I've been pampered and I have a hard time settling for less, which is why I'm trying to stay under $27k for the next one.
