My best time with a 2.7ltr cam, chip, 3,73 in a touring was 15,5 and I was one of the fastest e30s out there ha ha ha- I know its slow
You do realize a stock M20B25 ran mid-15's new, right? No reason why a chipped well-maintained model shouldn't be in the low-15's.
do u want to see my time slip?

I want to take my car to the drag strip before and after the tranny swap, just to see how much difference there is, and also because I'm curious just how slow my car is!

Ryan, I know the e30 is for road courses, but I would like to know for shits and gigles how fast your s50 is now, that Video you posted the other day really sparks my interest.

If mine could hook up with the 195 tires it would run a nice time, I am sure of it. And mine is just a lowly m50tu

I was leaving the Alpinas on hoping for the chance to run it actually. It snowed and usually they close the track once it snows. Since Im not driving the car much I can still leave the wheels on and hope that they get a run in or something when the weather clears.

At least I know I can get a dyno run in this winter.
          Im now E30less.

I ran a 16.4 @ 89mph when my car was auto, with the throwing stars on (heavy as hell). I am going to go back sometime in December to see what she'll do now, I hope for at least a 1 second drop.

a stock 325 was builtmore than 10 years ago, and probably didnt have 100,000 miles on it either. that chip will knock maybe .5 a second if your lucky. say what you all want, but a e30 is not fast unless it has a different engine, or turbo! there was a 86 e30 with a euro 3.8 M5 motor there and he was running low 13s, not really that fast for what it is, but still tons faster than mine. ha ha hah a ha you all have slow 15 or 16 second cars!!!!

Mike, you are looking like a troll in this thread. First you call bullshit on all our times because they are too fast according to you and then we prove you wrong so you then call 15/16 seconds slow.

I dont remember anyone stating that those times were fast (in fact most people are saying their cars are slow).

You need to have yours checked out if your times ARE that much worse than ours. Our cars may be slow but it sounds like yours is broken. Cars, when maintained, dont lose copious amounts of power. Not well made ones anyway.

Exactly, I never go dragging and when I did I had crappy hard old Michelins on my car that went up in smoke. Put someone experianced with a tree behind the wheel and I wonder how it would do.

My reaction times were horrible. And my 60 ft times were miserable. TCD with 296 whp was only in the low 13's at 108. All due to hookup and clutch melting.

When he finishes the auto conversion on his E28 Turbo car that thing will probably get into the 11's he said.

They are putting an auto into the E28?

That's surprising, are BMW's auto trannies strong enough to hold that kind of power? I didn't think they were, most BMW auto trannies are like ticking time bombs, to my knowledge.

Yes, an auto in the E28. I forgot to ask Todd what it came out of. He doesn't car because he will modify it anyway. Higher stall converter and the whole nine yards.

Im not trying to be the "troll". Im just being realistic. and most of the cars on this forum are not that well maintained! As far as putting a better driver in my car, I grew up drag racing classic muscle cars, I know how to launch a car. I did have alot of traction problems, but all I said was STOCK motored E30s dont run in the low 15s. and I will never believe a 325e ran a low 15, no matter how many time slips you have!!

Just in case you missed it the first time around Mike. That is a 6.

All fo these times are realistic except for the ones where people were obviously goofing around. A lot of these cars are well maintained, most of the people on here are enthusiasts. I have personally seen stock (just bolt ons, which do little to nothing) M20B25 cars in the 15s.

On the auto turbo 5, is he actually using a BMW unit or is he getting one of those dragstrip specials?

my bad on the times for your car then. I am also an enthusiast. I have a few E30s to include my M3 which is pretty heavilly modded, and still isnt really that "fast". Im not trying to knock anyone, just stating a point that the cars are not fast in straight line acceleration( but watch out on the track, or on the twisties in germany) nothing worse than exageration! for that matter, what do you think your car will run in the 1/4, I have access to a E36 325, that i could take the motor out, but dont really think/know if its worth it. the E36 325 is only 190hp isnt it? not much more than the M20 with a cam andchip.
