    Stock wheel appreciation thread

Just gave my weaves a thorough cleaning and thought I'd start a stock wheel appreciation thread. Granted, they haven't been mounted on any car for the last 10 years but hey, they are CLEAN. When I had my 85 325e in 92, I couldn't afford decent 15" wheels but what I did have were immaculate bottlecaps. I would literally clean them after every trip but man they looked great. Weaves are a bitch to clean but well worth the effort. I used a center punch covered in an old tee shirt to get into the tiny crevices. Someone suggested Q tips but if your wheels are really dirty like mine were, it would take 1/2 a pack and a lot of patience to get them clean.

Kinda makes me want to put them back on the car.

Those are some clean wheels. I loathe cleaning them but I love that classic bbs design. They are awesome street wheels, tires are cheap with a large selection and they are tough sobs. To clean mine, I use a little glass cleaner and a paper towel/rag.

Have you seen this meguiars product for wheel cleaning:

I wonder if it could work one over on the weaves.

Do the wheel weights bother you? I cant stand having them visible like that. Very clean wheels though.

yeah I'd get rid of that style wheel weights.

look good. weaves don't really fill the fenders though. euro weaves on the other hand...

Would be cool to see those back on the ///M. After I get permanently settled, the search is on for a set of nice 15" weaves for mine.

I spend more time cleaning my weaves then it takes to clean the car. But they look good when done right,,,, for a 14" wheel of course.

Use shotgun barrel cleaner things for the weaves. It's a bristle attachment for drills, I use it by hand and get grime out quick, cuz I can't use qtips all day.
