Ah, the American Dream. Really interesting reading this after sociology class, I must say.
Sociology was my undergrad degree. There was a German guy, Thorstein Veblen who wrote about the rise of the "leisure class" around the turn of the century. Although it was a different time period, it is almost dead on to the modern American "dream" as it were.

Sorry about the accident, man. That's never fun, but it's good to see you're ok. I know from my own experience that these Bimmers will save ya when it comes to that kind of situation.

But hey, listen, I saw you were parting your car. Can I get dibs on the grill? Thats really all I need.

I thik the kidney grill is still on the side of the road.

I am not parting it, I am acquiring another e30 and using as much of my stuff as i can, namely the m50.

Started it up today, smokes like hell since it was upside down for 30 minutes, all the oil drained through.

I let it sit for almost two weeks though so most all of the oil went back down.

I also saved my Euro headlights, Thank you God, I am now looking for a passenger side bucket though, it was the only part that was broken.

Felt good to start it up again, and hear it idle. I got off lucky on that I guess.

took a little frustration out on the trunk lid... I opened it to look in and I could not get it to close back (as the pictures show it is no longer straight) so I had to bend it in certain places with a larger (30lbs ;) ) to get it shut since there are still some tools in there that I just cannot make myself remove.

Peace guys, I plan to be back in a m50e30 January 1, 2005!

i just had a similar story happen to me. ill keep it short. on the way to little talladega raceway for my buddies birthday race day i got lost and mad and was probably driving a little faster than i should (50 or so in a 45) no lie and hit a blind hill the same way that turned too sharp to the left for me to react after letting off the gas. car slid sidways off the shoulder all the way around and hit a tree on the front left in front of the wheel and setting me back on the road facing down it. all i got was a bruse from the steering wheel, my cars front end is ripped off and the firewall is commin undone from the body and im looking for a replace ment. well thanks if you read this. im pretty bummed but glad to still be here. take it easy everyone. phil.
