    Carlifts, who has one?

I have the opportunity to pick up a two post 9K lift for $500. It is a short height with no top restriction.

The issue is it's too wide. 10 vs a standard 8 foot.

It's more like 45 year old concrete but it has large pad surface.

Got a Mohawk installed here about 2 years ago. You will not regret it. I still use ramps for oil changes (faster), but there is no way I would have attempted to swap trannies in my Passat without one. You do get kind of spoiled because I find myself getting pissed waiting 45 seconds for the thing to lift the whole way up.

Used to have acess to one all the time but gentleman sold his business so for the hassle this seems worthwhile to me.

Yeah, I miss evenings in the shop with a building full of lifts. I think I did my first LOF with a floorjack a few weeks ago. I hated all 15 min of it.

TIs not the surface area its the density of the concrete, most lifts require a 2ft bt 2ft square of 5000psi concrete diretly under the lift towers

I spent 12 hours under my car this past sunday. I don't ever want to do that again. And I did my motor build/tranny swap on gravel. I'm too old for that shit now. :p
