Kubica was extremely impressive, he is driving like a man who wants Massa's spot next year. I expect Massa to be penalized for intentionally blocking Button, and Weber put together a perfect quali lap.

Awesome quali - Webber put together a blistering lap. Being on the front row in any race is beneficial, especially so in the tight confines of Monaco. He can get settled with a race pace and run until lapped traffic appears. Kubica really impressed too....I hope he can get a podium finish tomorrow. Renault has had a good success record at Monaco in recent years.

I think the one to watch tomorrow will be Alonso from the back of the pack. He just needs to keep clear of early race cluster fucks as they set off. Schumy was in the same spot in 2006 and finished 5th (granted there were only 20 cars on the grid back then). On that basis, if Alonso can finish at least 9th or better, that will be a damn impressive drive. Any word on just how extensive the damage to his car was from final practice?

Well it ripped out the half shaft and destroyed the suspension and a lot of carbon fiber bits, but they are using the back up chassis so none of that really matters going into tomorrows race.

Alonso is in position to score massive points in the fantasy league if he overtakes more than half of the pack and manages to make it in the points.

This should be an interesting race tomm. I already swapped out Ferrari for RBR in my team for some extra points. Hopefully they start getting their stuff together in reliability.

RBR 1-2 would be glorious, with Massa in 3rd.

Props to Kubica for getting 2nd place quali.

+1 RBR 1-2 ftw. Kubica drove a great race, as did Alonso. Congrats to anyone that has Alonso on their fantasy team hahaha.

Schumi didn't pass Alonso til the actual last corner. There's a white line across the track where the pitlane entry 'starts' and once you've crossed that line its all fair game, so since he crossed that line before passing Alonso he took 6th fair and square.

But as soon as Webber got round Sainte Devote first no one looked like getting near, he's on a role! And a Vettel fastest lap (and Webber 2nd fastest) means RBR proved they have the best car at high and low speeds.

I hope the Schumi position sticks, that was an epic end to a great race.

As for RBR, they should be running their version of the F-Duct for Turkey so expect even better performance out of them. I wonder if the new parts brought at Barcelona have changed the characteristics of the car in Webber's favor though, that or maybe Vettel is just having setup issues, or Webber is really just on his game(the most likely case).

Indeed a great race, but once again, Speed elects to cut the post race coverage of a great win by Webber to bring us NASCAR coverage. Lame.

Schumi gets 20 second penalty. LOL

Funny - when I was watching and they said SC was coming in, I wondered if someone would get cute. He isn't helping that tarnished image Louise referred to earlier this week, is he?

Tarnished image? I don't think that reeks of cheating, I think it is just racing. It's not like he overtook Alonso and then lied about it like SOMEONE did.

^^^ I agree - it was nothing more than a typical racing event.

I wasn't too clear on the rule that applied so initially I thought Schumy's pass was fair and clean. Unlike some questionable moves made by F1 drivers in recent memory.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a Hammy fan. The fact that HE of all people made that comment was ironic. :)
