excellent video.. he passes everyone like they were standing still! the red porsche that doesn't want to get out of the way is funny, reminds me of idiots on the freeway.

what's the top speed on a GTR? I couldn't even imagine driving a car that fast at it's limits..

Is that on the old 14mile Nurby or the F1 short circuit?

The 14 mile track, you can tell because the f1 track dosen't have those banked turns...

Sweet, I'll download it now. I've got a vid of the M3 GTR lapping the F1 track, thought it might be the same one.

At ~7:27 it looks like he blows by an E30. WTH was an E30 or something that looks like it doing on that track?

Kick ass video. Really amazing. Any estimates to his speed through the fast sections?

I was also wondering what kind of tranny that is. Judging from the in car view, it looks like he was shifting it like a normal manual box, because aren't sequential boxes just tapping up for upshifts and down for downshifts (or vice versa)? It's obviously one of those straight cut geared racing boxes by the pitch of it, but it doesn't look like he is using a clutch at all.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

With a sequential stick, you pull back tp upshift and push it forward to downshift. The reasoning behind this is that the g-forces aide you in either motion. When you accelerate, it is easier to pull back because your body is being pulled forward by the car and thus pushed back into the seat. Ander underbreaking the g-forces push you forward, so you push the stick forward to downshift. I once read about a race car with it set up backwards and the driver complained immensely. I do not remember the quote, tho.

There are different versions of sequential gearboxes.... I don't have any sound but for the amount of shifting, I believe that was a sequential gearbox....

Speed? Lets say very fast and for him to be doing that under 9 minutes with the full stadium course and the old green hell course, he was flying....

Then again, Hans knows the track very well....

The M3 GTR never had a sequential box in IMSA/ALMS/ACO competition, so it's doubtful BMW has added it by now. Most likely that looks like a clutchless jerico-style transmission like the nascar boys use.
