Figured the horn out!! the piece of rubber had to be exactly the right width. I just cut off a little at a time until I had my horn.

Another airbag related question though....to keep the thread going.

I installed a MOMO in my '91, so I still have the orange airbag sensors under the hood. I want to remove these, as well as the wiring that comes out of them, but they are secured with hardware that I have never seen. It's like a torx bolt, but with a raised nub in the middle. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, do you know where to get a socket to remove them?

I suppose BMW dealers have the tool, so I might try that. Another option would be to buy the proper torx socket and drill a hole in the middle to fit over the 'nub.'
        Cheezel and a hummer baby.

Tap them on side, and it will get loose right off.

If you make one too big the horn and steering wheel locks won't work anymore.

Funny, I swapped in the Mtech 1 in my airbag wheel and the SRS light never came up.....
you car was in an accident.... airbag deployed, fixed in a russian body shop, and they never reset the computer... new owner didnt like it so he took the bulb out.....

or the air bag light had been on for 15 years and it burned out before you got the car

my momo hub and wheel went directly on without a spacer in my 90 325i. Yanked it when I sold the car though.

However, you might find that when you switch stalks, the function where you pull back on the left side lever and the brights come on will not work anymore.
um, or you could just get non-airbag e30 stalks....

well, if I had non-airbag e30 stalks, I would have passed that along as well.
I had an e28 parts car sitting in my garage at the time, so I knew it would fit.

So i got the old steering wheel off, mtech1 is on and it works fine. I actually kinda like the closer stalks a little bit. But i dont know what i did, i somehow managed to make it so the mtech 1 wont come off (even when the key is to on). Also, its seems now only the passenger side horn works, instead of the drivers side.

come on now, why would you want to remove it? Sodium azide burns are the best.
