E30's when maintained are highway kings that sip gas and eat pavement, at least mine was anyway, with 2.93 rear and 2.7i*
      97 tacoma 5 spd 4 cylinder
      2001 330ci 5 speed
      83 733i 5 speed, (FS)

        Damn right Skippy.....

I have driven a e30 from Dallas to LA. Twice.

        And love it baby!!!!!

Ive done the same trip in a Porsche 911, F-150, Land Rover, Cadillac CTS and flown dozens of times.

Best fun I had was in the e30.

LA to SD....easy..... if you take care of your car.

600m trips easy. But then again cruising at highway speeds does stress a car that much.

I don't take my E30 on too many long trips, not comfy enough, thats what the E34 is for. But the previous owner took it on a few trips from San Diego to Phoenix.

Awesome, this is what I wanted to hear. My E is very well maintained, so that's not an issue. I drove it 400mi last weekend and it rode perfect, but I've got a 3.73 rear end, so I'm doing 3k at 70mph. Fml

well with no headlights, turn signals, radio, license or insurance, not far + plus with 4.10 gearing and 100 octane it would get expensive, but other than that, I would drive it anywhere. If it can handle hours on end at redline, it can handle whatever mileage you want to throw at it!

So sorry i'm on a 26 hour day. we do make bloopers every now and then. It was meant as 1000 miles or 1K and in my sleepy mode it came out as bumble fingers.

Been to Miami and back a 3 years ago... and then to Melbourne 2 years ago. The first trip was a total of ~3000 miles, and the second was a few hundred less. That is with the low mileage 318is (~30,000 on motor for first trip). I have taken my wife's 325 eta to Dallas and back with no problems... great mileage too (~35mpg).

Maintenance is king with these. Keep up with your T-belts, oil changes, water pumps, and plugs. They'll run forever.

drove to tail of the dragon and roads around the area and back, total of about 6 hours each way, plus a days worth of driving. No problems with my e30, can't say the same for others. Well, I did have one problem -- it wouldn't touch anything above 90, and would lose speed up hills.
