Rob the eta LIES to you. It makes you think it gets up and goes but it really just shakes you a bit and then fizzles. I drove one for 4 years, I know.

personal preference mate. test drive both till you get a feel for which one you prefer.

personally i like the m42s. ive always been a fan of 4 cylinder cars, so that why i chose the 318.

just make sure you get what YOU want, not what some bmw-net-geeks influence you to get.

You guys are so funny, i remember a last year one of the members here posted up a vid of a tuned M20 with a super duper chip, and i could not stop laughing it was so god damn sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

And for some reason the 318is cars seem to rust less.

There are many tuning options for a M42 here in Europe, and i intend to bolt a charger onto mines, im aiming for 200bhp/lbft.

I would much rather have a 318is over a M20 any day.

That was Robert. His car wasn't running right, he fixed it by swapping the AFM.

Fixing an M42's lack of power is a bit harder.
