    The Official Cheap Mod Thread

Post description and part info on the cheapest E30 mod that gave your car the biggest benefit. Whatever it is list, own it, install it. Whatever. Pics are a plus.

I'll start. Here's mine. I use the passenger side glass from the passenger side mirror, in the driver side mirror. The inscription reads: Objects In Mirror Are Larger Than they Appear. All you need is a micro standard screw driver and pop out the glass from the passenger side. Remove the driver side glass and pop in the passenger side.

Cost at the junk yard: $2.00, maybe $5.00 at the most.

Benefit: When you change lanes and check the new glass you have installed on the driver side, it gives you excellent field of depth. The only down side is that it takes the brain a few days to adjust to the new distance depth. Great cheap mod.

Yeah. It helps me drink coffee, talk on my cell phone, and eat doughnuts while driving, and not have to think about shifting.

        It's flawless.

Boo for broken English and completely wrong information.

The reason for the inscription on the passenger side is due to the distance between the driver and mirror. On the drivers side it is around a meter from the drivers eyes to the mirror, and the mirror to where the driver sits parallel to the centerline of the car. On the passenger side you have to look across the car, plus the distance from the mirror back to drivers position, effectively adding another meter to the perceived distance in the mirror. Simply trace your line of sight.

Side note, McLaren F1's have symmetrical lines of sight out of the side mirrors.

Don't do this 'mod' unless the glass in your drivers mirror is broken, and you only have a passenger side spare.

For a real cheap mod, well it's a BMW shit ain't cheap.
