Man this thread is old I killed the IX and now have 260k on my 91 318, and at the rate I'm going this sucker will be at 300k in june of next year. I want to do a m50 swap but im going to use the m42 till it crokes, could be years it is so tight only use a 1/2 quart every 5k, and that is normal cause i drive the bastard hard here and there.

my odometer went out in 1996 with 217k, i assume i qualify

so adjust your valves... that's the only thing it could be, unless you ran it without oil.

the tics there so you know your valves are workingl.... haha
sposed to sound like a sewing machine. tic is good. but not a too loud of a tic.

i was at 229k befor the car was tottaled. i would of for sure made sure it would of broke 300k by the end of the yr. i drive about 500 to 600 miles a week for school and work. but to bad it is gone now.

Despite my current low milage e30, I had an ix with 230k and an is with 205k, both were hassle free modes of transportation.

My odo went out in 2002 @ 159k miles

I'm guessing I have about 200k-210k by now.
