It is what it is,a $650.00 bmw. I had a guy i sold my track car 91 318is(stripped down)to and he called me about 1 month later and told me the bolts on the right motor mount bracket broke off and wanted me to fix it for free because i sold him the car. I told him nicely to shove it and he can pay my shop to fix it. I would say let it be your ok with your deal.
Sold my car, broke on the guy on his way home, what should I do?

This happened to me as well.
I was using this eta as a daily driver AND delivering pizza in it, so I knew it was okay. Sold it to a guy who liked the car, didn't really know too much about cars. No shit, the next week it starts giving him problems. I helped him out, but I didn't go out of my way or anything like that. I felt bad as hell, but wtf am I going to do?Slicktop City!Comment

Offer to buy it back at half price or tell him to sell it on Craigslist.
I'm sorry, but who are these ppl thinking they are buying a $650 car and expecting world-class roadside service?!

drop it like its hot!
you sold it as is. he signed for it as is.
what is there not to understand?
tell him he can part the car out and get his money back + some extra cash.
or he can sell the i parts and buy a new belt and coolant pump.
if he brings the car back and gets in your face call the cops and show them the bill of sale.
it will get straitened out fast.sigpic

Even if you sold the car to him and he left it there overnight and it got crushed by a tree it would be his fault.Comment

like everyone is saying, i can understand being helpful because nobody wants to deal with a douche.. but this guy bought a drivable car and another motor for $650 bucks... that is what it would cost to rent a trailer to tow the car 400-500 miles alone.. tell him if he persists with the issues to get an attorney and you will deal with this in civil court.

if you're willing to buy it back for half price and fix it go for it. otherwise, i would tell him that if he steps on your property you'll call the cops. end of story.sigpic
