Not a WRX or STi , But I had a 97 Impreza AWD Coupe with a ej18 , yes 1.8 none turbo but that thing was a blast to drive. I got it for 1500 bux with 125k miles. Uber great gas mileage. Up graded clutch ,very clean engine. Only issue was very low trans ratio. 2nd gear redlining at 50 3rd at 70 and etc. Off the line it was great, even for a 1.8 . Cherpping 2nd in a awd is a WOW . Hitting a curved on ramp to the freeway with the front tires spinning WOW. Just wish I had this car when us in CA got all this crazy rain. Just my luck i picked up a leaking vert for rain ftl;
Id get another. But only a GC8 like i had b4.

As far as I can remember going back about 5 years, at least to my knowledge, the whole "bro" thing was related to a tuner named Big Al at ICS Performance on the east coast. They make videos of tuning peoples cars and all you can hear is bro this, bro that. It got so bad that everyone would be saying we're going to get tuned by "bro" lol But they work on all types of cars so no general classification.

we looked at them, they're actually a bit too small for a "mom" IMO. the legacy/outback is a better family car, the forester wasn't any bigger than my wife's old Sentra. We really needed the extra room in the back too.
15mpg in a forester is pretty awful though! my wife complains about getting 25mpg in hers.
I haven't done much to ours but poking around it looks very, very easy - especially for a car built within the last decade. the oil filter is stupidly easy to get to, everything is basically in plain sight (starter? 2 bolts right under the car - plop!). I didn't find the spark plugs hard at all. It does have the typical Japanese car mess of random wires and hoses all over the place though.
He posted a picture of a stickered up faux rally car, what did you expect? a parade? it's like he was begging us to make fun of his car. :pJust wondering why as a moderator you decided to jump on the bandwagon and bash this guys car? Instead of putting a end to the thread before 11 pages of bandwidth were wasted. All the guy did was post some pics of his car and you guys start calling him out on stickers and carbon. Who gives a fuck? To each there own. Sounds like he has a decent stable of bmw's now.Comment

suby love
This entire thread has me rolling so i had to add my two sense. Subies are one of my favorite car companies. The wife currently drives an 04 forester xt with an upgraded turbo. She loves it. My second car was an '88 gl wagon and that thing was a beast!! push button four wheel drive, positraction in front and back. I could barely get it to 65 on the highway, but had the torque you couldn't imagine. I'd put studded snow tires from a chevy s-10 on it in winter and spend a few months pulling bro trucks out of ditches with it. That thing would easily handle 3 feet of lake erie lake effect snow. It had over 300, 000 and was still going when I sold it.
So sad the poser crowd got a hold of that name, It is so tarnished now.Comment

So true. My first car was/is my 95 Legacy, which isn't nearly as beastly as the old GLs and Brats. A good friend of mine has an old RX and a turbo Brat, with the 4 lo/hi selector. That mini truck is just absurdly capable.This entire thread has me rolling so i had to add my two sense. Subies are one of my favorite car companies. I love Subarus, but I'm less than pleased with the Brotatos taking over.Comment
