I fully support displine not degregation. E.g Smacking is ok verbal abuse is not.
But I do agree that kids do not have any respect for anyone these days including the police. I don't think passive solutions are working like most of the tree huggers hoped. I think a more physical approch needs to be enforced.
Kids (Anyone) should be affraid of the police/parents, if they have no respect for others or fear of disapline then we fail as a community/parenting. Not only do we fail our selfs we do not help the individual by being soft.
So your punishment I think is excellent. One your daughter know that if she fucks around she will be delt with. Two she learns the importance of money and that it is earned and not a comodity.

My dad cussed my whole life and occasionally spanked me as a kid, unlike my mom, who's completely liberal.
I did some stupid shit as a kid (never stole), so I can understand where he's coming from.
Growing up back in Iran back in the day, I'm sure my grandfather was worse.
Me and my dad are pretty close though, we've never had any serious tension.
And now, when he gets pissed and cusses at us, we all just laugh. "Stupid shet!"
When I have a kid some day, I don't think I will ever call my child a bitch, or stuped shet, but I won't let them become a fuck-up.

The group home I work at is full of kids that were raised by soft people. Most of them walk all over their parents. Now they are in their teens and have decent sized criminal histories. Gangs attract these type, next thing you know they are heavy into gangs and doing all sorts of drugs and such.CCW- when every second counts... The police are just minutes away!Comment
