I'm not saddened at all, just an expression.

Wow, don't you guys know how Mercedes works?

Mercedes has a policy that NO MATTER the part, they will make it if ordered. Even for a very old car etc, if you need it, they will supply it. That doesn't mean the price hasn't gone up 10 fold though!

Do I think BMW do this? Hell no, its a waste of money!

Beemerfanatik, not to be a dick, but you don't know squat about how a business works.

Another rare find in an E30, is a non cracked dash :P
So are those hubs exacly as E30 M3? I take it they will only fit on E30 M3 spindle then, corect?

I got a couple of non-cracked dashes if you want one. Rare!!! ;)

                Love the sig. Hilarious.

But how much would a battery tray organizer cost to make? And what sort of ridiculous prices are people willing to pay to get them? I just think there should be some small stock kept of ALL parts. Look at the muscle cars - you can build a brand new one from the ground up, IIRC. If you can't get OEM, you can get aftermarket. The point is, you can get it.

I can see your point, but I can see mine. I think it's an agree on both sides sort of situation.

That little piece of plastic requires materials, the molds, the workers to build the machines that mold them, etc.

Keeping stock of all the parts for every car ever made would be convenient, yes, but they're not going to keep every little piece for every car in stock when people don't order them constantly.

Water pumps, yes. Timing belts, yes. Brake rotors, yes. Little plastic storage bins that most people either lose and don't give a fuck about or forget are in their trunk... no. And hey, if there's an aftermarket manufacturer that makes them, what's the point of this whole discussion?

At any rate, BMWNA is not going to change their way of business for a little internet forum's hot-damn wanting for a select few parts.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I highly doubt they threw away the molds for NLA parts. Doesn't sound like a good idea. But maybe youre right. If they didnt, though, wouldnt it not be that big of a hassle to just take it off the shelf, dust it off, and make one?

I know our banter isn't going to change a thing, and there will always be parts you can't get new, but I just think, even if it's a huge price increase, you should be able to buy any piece new.

BMW doesn´t make anything, they build cars from parts from manufactures,
if BMW says we don´t need that part anymore, then that means they don´t ever want it and the manufacturer doesn´t want to sit on anything useless piece of mold that takes up space,

I'm actually not sure... cause they can swap over to a reguar 4 hole E30, with no issues, u just change the wheel bearing( just cause most of them r worn). I didn't know the M3 had a differnent Spindle ?

BMW apparently still has the ability to retrofit the assembly line to start making E30s in a short period of time, but do they? No, because there is no demand for it. You think there is a demand for some ABS plastic, when really it's like a max of 25 people. What takes priority, an old piece 25 people want, or a new one hundreds, maybe thousands more want?
