Just a really expensive turbonater... but the name was already taken :( haha

FWIW my guess is on a hot cam with tons of valve overlap. More flow between intake exhaust = higher velocity exhaust gasses = faster turbo = more boost = infinity power!!!

mazda did something like that with the millenia...didnt work out so well.

The millenia was a 5 stroke engine, some strange deal where they incorporated the supercharger into a 5th stroke. I don't remember the science behind it, never thought it worth mentioning since it was such a piece of shit. Not arguing, just supporting.

My dad had one. They quoted him $7k to repair the engine when it died, this was ~5 years ago.

                    Go here be happy!

The miller cycle engine is a added efficiency supercharger. Nothing bad about it, wait until you have a supercharged engine and see how much gas it sucks.

However even in theory it is not as efficient as a turbocharger.

Mazda themselves uses essentially the same engine in their mazdaspeed 3 but just using turbocharging.

I think over the years mazda has made some money putting stuff out there that apeals to engine nerds. No offense to anyone.

The mx-6 with 4-wheel steering was cool. I'm surprised that tech hasn't go into more cars.
