    Not fatter than an IX

But how fat am I supposed to be?
My cousins IX came in at 3020 without him in it (dont rempember the fuel level though,,,Daym), I was under the impression that Cab was a bit heavier...
    Heres where she came in...
This was all for giggles btw, the car is on crappy springs so no corner-balancing adjustment were made... Pretty good almost 50% with me in it.

Some glovebox clutter, clean trunk, about half tank.

With me in the Driver seat

ah, earlier cars were heavier. So much sound deadening/trunk tar. Even the rear parcel shelf on my parts car has a huge chunk of tar on it.

does the same go for the Cabs,, If so when I swap motors I might as well take some out.

Holy crap does an ix have that tar stuff in the trunk, though.
I pulled the tar out of my early eta last year, and I want to say it was 30-40 lbs.
Looking in the ix trunk, it seems like it's TWICE as thick as what was in the eta...

Guess I'll find out when it gets warm out...

^ its easier to take out when its cold and hard. if it warms up it'll be soft and sticky and a real pain in the ass to remove.

if you put dry ice on it, you can tap it with a hammer and shatter it. then just pick up the pieces.

You wont have any in the trunk but maybe some under the rear seat. Im curious what my vert weighs since I don't have metal bumpers anymore.

Don't feel bad John, mine weighs in at a healthy 3150 w/ half a tank :)

Convertibles also have a nice, fatty weight in the trunk behind the passenger's side wheel well to stabilize the handling. If you're feeling adventurous you can relocate the battery back there like on coupe/sedan cars and ditch the weight. It's a PITA job though.

Ahh yes I forgot about that. It even has four bushing on it for who the fuck knows.

I love the cut down rhino ramps.

That's not much heavier than my 330is and almost exactly the same up front.

                            2896:
                            757 773
                            683 683

IIRC, that was around 5/8ths. Sadly, my ass is a lot fatter than yours is, so I weigh more loaded. Mine is about as heavy as a non-iX gets, though. S50, A/C, lukebox, two amps, big battery, leather seats, thick carpet, heavy ass BBS RXes....

I'm kind of surprised that they did the front battery conversion, though. Given where the weight is sitting, your 'vert wouldn't mind some more weight in back. I wonder how much opening the top changes the weight distribution?
