That's not much heavier than my 330is and almost exactly the same up front.

IIRC, that was around 5/8ths. Sadly, my ass is a lot fatter than yours is, so I weigh more loaded. Mine is about as heavy as a non-iX gets, though. S50, A/C, lukebox, two amps, big battery, leather seats, thick carpet, heavy ass BBS RXes....

I'm kind of surprised that they did the front battery conversion, though. Given where the weight is sitting, your 'vert wouldn't mind some more weight in back. I wonder how much opening the top changes the weight distribution?
Ill do it Open top tonight if you guys are curious

Convertibles also have a nice, fatty weight in the trunk behind the passenger's side wheel well to stabilize the handling. If you're feeling adventurous you can relocate the battery back there like on coupe/sedan cars and ditch the weight. It's a PITA job though.
I read somewhere throught a google search that its not so bad if you get your hands on E30 M3 Cab batt cables..

          Anybody Know??

they barely made a handful of E30 M3 cabbies. Good luck finding one that's been parted out - maybe 1 or 2 in the E30's lifetime.

You can use any stock battery cable, it's just a huge pain to route it through the 2 rear bulkheads, you have to get creative with a dremel tool.

Been thinking about batt relocation,,, the batt in the front is just so -- non bimmer.
Prolly gonna do it when I do my swap

routing the cable isn't so bad. i devoted part of my swap build thread to this project in my "obd2 swap blog" if you feel like searching for it. the real bitch is cutting those mounting brackets out from behind the wheel well where bmw put that bullshit boat anchor chunk of cast iron. i have done this swap to both a facelift vert and an early style. trust me: cutting that shit out of the trunk sucks bizzalls. however, i wouldn't have the car any other way. if you do mount the battery in the back, you need to cut this crap out and with the facelift, you really need to add in a bracket from a facelift coupe to make it so the battery tray will sit correctly. sitting the tray on top of the boat anchor bracket is lame and gay and cheesy!:hitler:

The ramp kit was like an extra million dollars,, and with the plastic ramps I just throw them anywhere in the trailer without worry

Believe me, I know. I've got a set of Intercomps. I keep meaning to make something out of 2x4s, but there are so many reasons why that solution sucks.
