Bumping an old thread...
Thought about V1 but latest reviews puts the Escort 8500 X50 at a better overall value...i mean, really, V1 just has the arrows. Anyway, for $300 new aint bad, we'll see how it does.Leave a comment:

In all my recent driving (4000 miles +) not once did the 9500ix warn of laser. ONLY on local roads have I received a laser warning.
The highway cops all use KA band (Obv. for the most part)
That said- in Connecticut and Massachusetts the cops use a stealth method where they're mostly CLOCKING or ESTIMATING.
I agree, speeding is crazy now that the states realize how much they can make. You can get a ticket that is an "estimate."
If the speed limit is 75, I drive 85 and once I get a warning, I slow it down and the dude in the Tahoe gets the ticket as he blows by me...
did something like that the other month!
i got on a freeway heading home, NO TRAFFIC!
im flying, like 95-110 speed.
i pass a guy as we're changing freeways at speed, coming around a corner i see the roof of the cop car over the wall, slam on brakes go by, he pulls out and snags the sucker i passed!
bet that dude was hella pissedLeave a comment:

Long, long ago - in a galaxy far, far away..
I got three moving violations w/in a year's time. License probation resulted. Spent following year driving NO MORE than 4 mph over. Dude – it wasn’t that bad – in fact – it was much less stressful to drive anywhere.
When it’s said and done – unless you’re Cannonballing across the US – speeding doesn’t get you there much faster..Leave a comment:

if you can't afford a good detector then why are you speeding? Its this kinda backwards ass logic that blows my mind. if the limit is 55 you can prob do under 70 without a ticket etc etc. Just find what the tipping point is for cops in that area and stay under that limit. You just keep reinforcing the point that you can't afford to speed...... then don't speed.... my eyes hurt when i stare at the sun.... then don't stare at the fucking sun....Leave a comment:

Yes I sell theI have a V1 and just last week I got caught speeding 45 in a 30. Why? B/c on local streets, at least here in the Bay Area, most cops use laser instead of radar. Yes the V1 picks up laser but by then it's too late b/c your speed will show up on their gun instant. That was the only reason why I was hesitant to pick up a V1 b/c more cops nowadays on our freeways use laser instead of radar. However, a few of my friends bought one for me on my bday last year and it has saved me a good amount of times while on long freeway trips to southern california.
A friend of mine sells and installs laser jammers at his performance shop and it's concealed where the police wouldnt be able to tell that you have one if he pulled you over. From what I remember from when he explained how it worked was that once the cop tries to laser you, it'll jam the gun and the beeping sound will go off giving you time to slow down while the jammer automatically shuts off. The the cop would probably try to shoot you again with the laser and will get a reading this time around- K40 Laser Defuser EX and EX2:Total Protection from Police Laser
