    The whole world speeds.

Just tail someone at a distance who's going ~9 over.

I've been doing this for years w/out a ticket.

    Escort 9500ix

The quietest, smartest, and most sensitive radar detector you can buy.

    Screw arrows.

But seriously... slow down. Get about 3 or 4 more years driving experience, when it won't literally bankrupt you when (not IF) you get your 90 in a 55 ticket.

I have an x50 8500 that I hardwired in my S4, and it worked great, the remote mute button is badass. It definitely saved me on several road trips. I got a cobra by default, it was in the glovebox of my current e30 which I bought for about $200. I tried it for a bit, and there is no comparison, the Escort was far superior. Now for the caveat; my escort started displaying the service required screen after about 4 years of ownership. This means it's failing the self test it does every 15 minutes or something. To send it in & get it serviced will cost $60ish, which I have not done yet. I loved the Escort, but for an expensive piece of electronics it seems like it should be a bit more durable.

Laser shifters (jammers) are legal in many states. People often get these confused with radar jammers, which are federally illegal because the frequencies used for radar require an FCC license to operate on.

Laser shifters are indeed illegal in California, however the cop has to see that you have one (they're easily concealed), plus the fine is cheaper, and it's an equipment violation instead of a moving violation, so you don't end up with a point on your record.
    do they work?

Wouldn't it be the crash that kills you?

That's like saying the song you were listening to killed you because it made you drive really fast.

Except the junk detector fails, you get busted anyways and now you're paying the price of a V1 while still being stuck with a junk detector.

My experiences in the states compared to Canada, our speeding fines are less and State troopers have NO sense of humour. FYI if your in Ontario and you speed by more then 50 Km/h over the limit (30 MPH) You loose your license for a week on the spot and your car is impouned for a week.

It's like that for all of Canada as far as I know. 50 over is what you have to watch. I got tagged at 92 in a 50 zone, BUT it was because I was on the highway (speed limit 110) and took an off ramp and was slowing down when they caught me. It was dumb...
