Need help from you E30 lovers.

Well first off, I love 240s. I can't seem to find a decent one for a reasonable price. But I have found 1986 325 that seems decent. I do not know much about them, but I wouldn't mind having one. I drove this car already. The trans is the smoothest shifting thing I have ever touched. The guy says its a 325e but it only says 325 on the trunk. It leaks a bit of oil and has a little steering wheel shake at around 50. I think it has manual brakes too. 133k on the odometer but it stopped working a month ago, he says anyways. He was trying to get 2300 but will give it to me for 1700. Also has ram intake through the driver side high beam. Paint is peeling. I didn't see any rust. If anyone could inform me on a motor size that would be great. I just need some help on deciding if this car is worth it or overpriced. Any feedback is appreciated. Oh and if anyone could tell me what the warning lights mean on the center of the ceiling, by the mirror, that would great. They are all in german so I can't read them.

325s are just 325e's you'd have a m20b27, good little motor with a little work.

1700 is a fair price imo

That should help translate the check panel for you.

Seems like a decent price. You will definitely want to replace the front control arms, bushings and tire rods to clean up the 50mph shake.

Check the E30 DIY subforum here for a ton of info and easy fixes. If you can spell mechanically inclined, you should be alright wrenching on the car.

Thank you! Ha. All the writing in the car is german! And it has a hand crank sunroof. I seen it on a 240 from germany too. Twice in 1 weekend for the first time in my life. Weird. I think I am going to pick this up tomorrow. It spun em easy going into second, which was a positive.

There is the carfax. Does anyone see anything wrong with it? It has the 6.5k tach in it. ITS FROM GERMANY! Like it wasn't made here. and it is a 325es if that make a difference.

              $1700? you're nuts...

              for a base model 325?

paint peeling, bumper trim cracked, dash cracked, fender with bondo, seats all cracked up...

yeah.. $1200. tops. and $1200 wouldnt even be that great of a deal. i'd offer $800.

Like I said I don't know how much these cars are worth or anything. But that is very helpful.

Look for an eta with a blown timing belt but a good body, swap to the "i" head intake manifold and brainbox, enjoy a 2.7i for under a thousand?
                  Jah bless! :pimp:

                        You're paying too much.
The best thing about that car is the front valence.

Should I offer lower or move on to the next one? He's pretty desperate to sell.

Either low ball him hard if he's that desperate and let HIM sit on it, or wait/move on to the next one.
But that's just my opinion, and right now I sound more picky then you do.
