The Official 'Craigslist find' thread - awesome & awful (eBay, Kijiji, etc.)
Wow. You have to respect the guys commitment though. He went a 180 direction than any of us would've gone but he definitely got somewhere and did things his way. Nothing but respect tbh. Weird unapproving respect.
Originally over 60k invested into this rare low rider beammer.....
Wheels & tires alone were over 10k.
Custom Paint job 9k.
6k in Euro M5 aero dynamic package front/rear bumpers, side skirts, spoiler, lights, fog lights.
Over 20k into gold/chrome plated parts
Suspension conversion to Airbags/shocks from regular coil springs.
Always starts & runs like new. Engine/tranny in like new shape, no leaks.
Replaced all gaskets, wires, spark plugs, tuned.
'Scuse the pun, but wow.....baaaahhhhh(d)!

I was looking a while ago this one on various craiglist, but couldn't find anything... really, this is so cool year... bump this one up.. and ready for chilling travel :)
This Dasher wagon has been retrofitted with a VW Quantum 1.6 turbo diesel engine and 5-speed transaxle. Gets 35+mpg in town, 45mpg+ on the road. Turbo works great.
I've had a VW diesel pickup with a canopy and this car is considerably more practical and way more fun to drive. Has 5 seatbelts and the front seats go back far enough for a 6-footer, unlike the pickups. Carries a lot of stuff with the back seats folded.
It's not pretty but hasn't been abused. I've had it for about seven years. Was my daily driver for a few years then my son used it for school for a couple of years. (The grille work is an April Fool's joke that went too far.) Hate to see it go but we're just not driving it enough. It's always ready to go when it's needed but it's not getting many trips to the plate anymore.
It has new brakes all around, new wheel bearings all around, a clutch w/ less than 5k miles and good tires. It's licensed until '19.
$2400. Trades considered. I'm looking for a propane conversion setup for a Holley 2 barrel
Think if 60k was spent towards period correct pieces, engine rebuild, interior redo, respray, suspension overhaul... and a a widebody kit or livery or Alpina or Hartge parts....
Instead, polished suspension bits, gold plated rotors and a neon light in lieu of a dome light.
