Oh and any interior pictures? Run the vin as well - for m-tech identification

that red mtech did not sell for $7k. either way, it's worth at least $7k. it's been relisted (currently 3k, reserve not met) and the silver vert you posted is worth at least 8. at least.

look at this way.... a clean lower mileage non-mtech vert can fetch 6-7k now. add the more rare mtech package? yeah.. if i had 8k to spend on an vert, i'd think it was a great deal.

He just relisted it today. This is the 3rd relist the first time it got closer to 8k, then 7k and now we'll see whats next.

Good for you - dealers know that the car is old.
Use that to your advantage. Looks like a keeper!
I've got him to $7000 price isn't going any lower. Just me pondering whether or not to pull the trigger.

You know a few months back there was a kid asking what his mom's car was worth and it was a silver M tech that looked JUST like this one! hmmmm. BTW, it's missing it's M tech badges and door sills. A good question to ask would be why?

do yourself a favor and run the vin. Then go from there...if in fact it is a mtech and that is what you want...do the regular e30 checks and make a decision. 7k on that if it is indeed an mtech sounds right...maybe on the higher side in my opinion

If its not a true m-tech, you have every right to drop the price like its hot.

I noticed the door sills, but thought nothing of it because:
                  1. Its a 91 which is the only year that full mtechs came out
                  2. They only came in Sterling, Zinno, Macao
                  3. Those are definitly the 15x7's they came with
                  4. Its definitely lower than a standard e30 vert.

I did run the vin through autocheck and it doesn't say any thing about it being a real mtech. Then I looked at that autocheck for the red on ebay and neither does it:

Then I ran both vins through realoem it doesn't mention it anywhere for either of them. However both were built in May of 91

What should I be running the vin through?

                    M-Tech verification

The vin will not give you what you want. What you need is the "build sheet". A copy goes with the car when it leaves the factory. There is also a digital copy in BMW's data base. Any BMW dealer can run it for you or you may have a friend that works at a dealer who can also get it for you. It's not a shared data base so Carfax (or any other car check system) wouldn't have it on their report.

When you get a copy of the report, go to "order options" & look down the list of code numbers for 771. If it has that number the car is authentic. Below is a copy of an actual report on a silver 91 M-tech II generated by a dealer. If you find the copy in the car, it will be in a different format but contain the same information.

Started at $10k? Wow. Stealership probably got it for less than $4k!

Good find, appears to be exactly what you're looking for. Not a bad price @ $7k, though closer to $5k would be ideal. G/L!

No need to run the VIN, I'm sure it's an M Tech. The kit, the color, the interior, leather consoles and production date are enough for me. Very odd it's missing it's door sills but they are still available.
