Still a new car to me. Too many nanny controls and so forth. Next toy down the road might be a Factory Five toy at some point.

I'm finding it hard to get too excited about this car to be honest. My buddy (who drives Acuras) was at the track today where Toyota had a couple FR-S' for test driving and can't stop raving about how it's such a drivers car and how he was able to get the back end out (it was a drift event and raining lightly.)

I just smiled and nodded understandingly.

Oh ya I agree with you there.

Something about toyota paint in general is way more attractive than suburu paint.

I agree it might be subjective but I doubt it. I think toyota paint looks fancier.

Old news. Paintless Spency and I found these about 3 weeks ago.

Its still no faster than an E30 M3. The power is nearly the same, the weight is the same, The M3 is a better investment for the $.

Except the Toyota is new, has a warranty, is cheaper to run, cheaper to insure, doesn't require $5000 engine rebuilds, and you don't have to drive it around all day praying someone doesn't tap your rear quarter panel and total it.

Passed one in traffic yesterday, blah stock bland car. So we will see where this goes in three years. What happens with OEM support/aftermarket.

If you blow up one of these motors, you better believe that it will cost you $5k to rebuild it right. Ten years down the road, they won't be worth rebuilding. They are throw away cars just live everything else on the road these days. Thanks, you can keep it. I don't want any part of the car. In my book its just another boring run of the mill sedan that isn't worth the cost of the rubber its tires are made of. There are better more interesting cars on the market for the same price that will always be worth more in the long run.

Sounds like she's well-educated on what she is selling.

                        Give an example?

I guarantee in 10-15 years there will be spec classes for these things.

It's a cool idea, but seems a little mislead. I'm sure playboy tuners and big shops will snatch them up, but shit, they snatch up whatever the hot new chassis is regardless of trim and price within reason.

It's like a car that appeals to all the people who can't afford it. (this is why BMW will likely never make something like this, not a question of balls) Warranty, and all the crap that a car HAS to have these, which will all be void or deleted once modified. And 25k for the base model that the US will probably never see is a kind of a bummer too.

I can't believe all the hate for these. A manufacturer says, lets make a lighter-weight car, make it RWD, have an LSD, inexpensive.

and all you guys say NO, HORRIBLE, BAD IDEA.

its like they made another e30, albeit with a better suspension and more horsepower.

Just as these cars are getting into customer's hands, there's already a recall being issued. It has to deal with........

                                .......wait for it........
