I visited the website as a visitor a lot back in the early days, and didn't join till I had a E30 again... You have guy like McGyver who calls someone a pissant, and who the "F" are you and so on because you posted what you felt was right... I find it pretty sad. I hope Yan gets his car fixed, Josh makes everything right and all is good...

This thread needs to stay open until Josh makes good on his mistake.

Also congrats on the super bowl, that interception was BS. But hey, i got food and beer, so yay sportz!

Who the fuck are you and why the fuck are you even in this thread? YOU WEREN'T EVEN A MEMBER, YOU DIDN'T DONATE, YOU HAVE NO HORSE IN THIS RACE. Why the hell would he care about regaining the respect of some pissant that jumped onto the crucifixion band wagon to get his "in before lock" comment.

That being said, first after Yan. Looks like the thread is over. In before lock. Yadda yadda.
your one class act there guy !!!! keep it up ...

Lock up so the actual outcome is never revealed? Kinda leaves a who can we trust feeling lingering. Glad those involved are showing some initiative with resolving the issue.

"Lastly I want to say a word about Josh. We have been texting back and forth the last few days and Josh’s heart is in the right place. He really seems to have accepted to correct what he feels needs to be. I cannot ask for anything and will not ask for anything except for your support.

I do NOT want Josh and his reputation to get tarnished by this. We all have made mistakes and were given chances to correct them. Please, please, please let’s not attack Josh or his character."

Spoken like a true gentleman. I think we should all listen to what Yan has said and wait to see what happens. Not that it makes a difference now but I did contribute in a couple of different ways.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I didn't donate, but I care about the outcome of this fiasco.

Forums are online communities. They certainly aren't the same as your real-life social circles, but in some ways, they resemble a social circle. For example, if someone posts that they got into a car accident or have been diagnosed some kind of serious illness, there's at the very least, people that will tsk tsk and offer their sympathies.

Why wouldn't this extend to another facet of a community? We have an avid participant of the forums whose integrity is being called into question. Do I care THAT much? No.

Regardless, it's a reflection of the dilemmas that face society as a whole. What do we do when there's a moral issue facing us? How people respond is a reflection of that forum.

For the most part, this place is run democratically. The constituents of this forum are the forum, for better or for worse. To quell opinions is censorship.

There is very little leverage in this situation aside from public cries for an investigation and/or resolution. If you silence the voices, you silence the impetus for an investigation.

    Yan,

I don't know you, but you are always a class act on the forums.

    Kudos for that.

Josh fucked up and is facing up to it and making it right. He may have taken a slightly different path to get to this point than some would but the important thing is hes doing something about it. Many would leave the community and do nothing. Ive done worse things in my early years and have paid a price and learned from it. I think this is Joshs turning point and Im willing to forgive and give the guy the chance he deserves. I really think his heart is in it and we should forgive and make josh prove himself I think he will do right

    Hey guys,

I apologize for my absence and lack of forum activity over the last few years. I got married and now have a baby on the way  so more time has been dedicated to the family of late. There are some things I want to say however.

First and foremost, from the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone and anyone who donated and wanted to help out. Guys, to this day, I am greatly thankful for this gesture that r3v showed for me.

I could never ask for a penny from anyone of you and always felt very guilty asking for the money from Josh. I was not entitled to it and just felt wrong even mentioning it. I did however a few times reach out and try to get the names of members who donated.

I wanted to make a decal with everyone’s name on it who donated to put on the M3 as a way of saying thank you. I figured it was the least I could do to honor those who helped out. I still want to thank you all for helping out and I DO want to create a decal or some sort of representation of everyone who gave.

Having said that, and when I found out that the money was gone, I felt terrible, not for myself, but for all those that meant to help out and wanted to show support. In a way I feel that I may be guilty for not staying on top of it, but I just always felt very guilty asking or even talking about the money that was donated.

Over the last few years and more recently I have gotten a lot of texts, PMs, Facebook messages and emails asking about my M3 and if I still had the car. I am happy to say that I still have the car. She currently is sitting on jack stands, waiting for nicer, warmer weather to have an oil change and a front brake sensor wire replaced. I try to block out the paint job and enjoy the car and the memories I had in it.

So here is what I know and what I can say with confidence. I love my e30 M3. I understand and rationalize that if I were to sell my M3 (to get over it) and try to get another one and build it up again, that I would a) never be able to afford to do this again, and b) it would never have the same emotions attached to it. I experienced so much with that car, from my times when I was stationed in Germany and in the states.

I appreciate all of you and your support through all this mess that took place with my M3. I have no idea who the majority of you guys are, and you guys don’t know me, but you all still supported me and showed me love. That alone is worth so much to me. Thank you.

Lastly I want to say a word about Josh.

Please, please, please let’s not attack Josh or his character.

If there is anything I can do please let me know.

I can't remember if I donated or not, I did post about it but my PP history only goes back to 2012. I may have sent it from an old account but I can't remember.

Anyway, been watching this unfold, and have restrained from posting so far and glad I did.

Foul play or not, Josh is still actively posting and appears to be trying to make it right. I don't know his motives, but his current efforts should be enough for everyone to back off and see where he goes with it.
