It's all about responsibility and maturity. I'm 17, i'll be 18 in a month, and i've owned my e30 for about 2 years, with no tickets or accidents. I know a lot of kids that have been in accidents like that and some that didnt make it and I guess that just made me realize that driving fast just to show off or be "cool" isn't worth it.
Ill 2nd that, I got an e30 before I had my license, granted its not the fastest car, I have never hit anyone else and I have 1 speeding ticket (that was in my m3).
"Hi i am Robbie I was the owner of that car, im lucky and glad to be alive my harnesses saved me, i was cut off by a motorcycle who dident even stop, he forced me to crash, im just glad i did when i dident have Rjackson in the car with me the passenger would be dead and more than likley there body would have killed me, i punched out the glass, and pulled myself out vomiting blood and glass, Trust me the turns arnt worth the crash....try and stay safe."
Im calling BS on that one, how do you get in THAT bad of a crash because someone cut you off??? He must be a worse driver than my sister.
"It was no more than 80 it was a spin, i accualy picked up momentum, i needed to slow down, i am, im dun with speed. Im glad i found this out without a freind in the car. "
I have a formula to see how fast he was going, take the drivers word and add 25mph to it, because when you get into an accident you always lie how fast you were going....
He gets what he deserves, 25k in mod??? Yeah, youd think he would atleast have a t/c s/c with that. Dumbass kid
Like all of you have already stated, there is a time for speeding and a time to know when your going to fast. But i agree that he was going faster then 80, 560 feet of skidding on dry pavement? thats a long distance for 80 mph in my opinion, none the less no opne herre has proof so i spose theres not much to say.
What town does he live in? Ask the police department for a copy of the accident report...takes a pole out clean and then hits a tree, yea just going 45 of so.
I'm 17, my first car was a 1986 528e auto. I drove it for 7 months without wrecking it. Then I sold it and got a 1989 325iC. I love this car, I will do everything in my power to keep it out of a body shop.

yeah, I agree with you saying that it's about the maturity level and not just age. I'm somewhat embarassed to say how old I am...just turning 16....but I've been driving about a year and driving for longer and I've never had any problems. I also think it's about how skilled of a driver you are...and I don't think age is all that matters when it comes to that. Although, most of the people my age are terrible drivers. I have lots of driving experience though.
:D
You don't even have your license yet and you are saying you are an experienced driver? I am sorry, I don't mean to sound like a dick (and I usually do) but you need to leave your ego at the door of your car or that over confidence is going to get you hurt just like the guy that wrecked his M3. Wait until you get out on the road and you make a mistake and see how little you really know about controlling your car.
Do I speed? Absolutely. Do I do 80+ on a 35mph road? Absolutely not. I speed on interstates, and typically that is 75-85mph in a 65mph zone. On back roads the same 15mph over applies as long as I can see what is infront of me. I do not drive wild around turns because my skills as a driver are not there yet where I could correct for something should it go wrong. I have sewed a neetle slipping in between two deer that have run out in front of me in the middle of roads, and have stopped to avoid cars and animals in the road. This happens because I am focused on the road and what my car is telling me. I don't speed when I have passengers, and I don't speed when the road conditions do not permit, and I NEVER speed in residential areas. If I were to kill someone, especially a child, I would eat a gun. That's just not something I could live with.
That is exactly how I drive. The pictures of the wreck seem to have exceeded their alotted bandwidth so I can't really see them. But, I completely agree that 50+ on like a residential/non-backroad street is absolutely stupid. My

well, actually, I've had my license for a while. :D
I don't even drive my car to it's limits. I haven't done anything to give my car more power because I know that I may not be ready for more power quite yet. I know I don't have that much experience, but listen to what I was actually saying. I don't race and I don't have a modded M3. most younger people are terrible drivers...it's a fact...but I said most.
but based on that same theory, are you saying that a 20 year old guy that's been driving for a mere 4 years is a worse driver than the 36 year old soccer mom?
and if it is all about age...the 30 year old guy that just got his license is no doubt a better driver than the young 22 year old that's been driving for 6 years. such an obvious scenario, no reason to even bring it up, correct?
I'm not saying any of this out of bitterness....because I know that I don't have as much experience as many of the people on the road, but there's no reason to tell everyone how everyone's lives are going to unfold.
I agree with you, and you are right. Just seemed like you had a bit of an ego going on. I know I did when I was 16 and I _thought_ I was a good driver.
Where do you live? How long have you had your lisence? I just wonder because you can't get it till your 16 in Florida, and you said you were just turning 16.
haha, I may be a bit too confident sometimes, but I definitely know my limits. I've been taught by my brothers and my dad how to drive though, and I have quite a bit of practice......so...that's it.
I'm about an hour away from Kansas City. and you have to be 16 here too, and I don't know why I said just turning....I guess I meant just turning as in turned a couple months ago.
I was on a restricted while I was 15 though (school & work). It's embarassing being young...oh well. I don't really care that much.

So you consider a couple of months "a while" then?
