If he was truly a redneck, he wouldn't be touting japanese cars, he'd be touting SRT-8s, or Z06s or Camaron SS, or Mustang GT. All of which, I might add, are faster than comparably-priced cars from Europe (or Japan in most cases). Just sayin....

Haha. Yeah, he's a semi-redneck. Gun toting, mud truck lovin, camo wearing, "get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich, b*itch." Kind of guy.

His 2 fave cars are the rx7 and ae86.

600HP in an AE86? Completely missing the point. Guy is a douche. Does he just drive in straight lines?

I have 3 German made cars. 300TD with over 500,000 miles. E30 with 175,000 miles and my Z3MC with just over 90,000 miles. If you by chance look at some Benz forums there are a lot that have massive miles on them. Even a badge system that will show mile marks.

So I would correct that and say German cars preformance and longevity.

Every car company will have its flaws and its perks. I used to be pretty close minded when it came to cars, but after owning 3 American (Lincoln Navigator, Pontiac Bonneville SSEI, Foxbody Mustang), 3 German (Porsche 924, My current E30, and my e34 touring), and 2 Japanese cars (240SX, Maxima), I just love cars in general.

Tell your friend it isn't good to be so close minded. Each car company learns from each other and it's the best thing that could happen to the automotive industry. It's not "stealing" or "ripping off". The people that build these cars have far more capability than your friend. They engineered a machine, regardless of make, that is outstanding in their own respects.

I'm a big fan of (old) Japanese cars. (check my sig)

Datsun based it's straight 6(early Z, 510(4/6 of a z motor)) on the Mercedes Benz straight 6 from the late 50's early 60's. The euro auto industry was around way before the Japanese auto industry, naturally, our Asian friends tore apart many Euro rides before they built anything for themselves.
