As someone who imported a '90 JDM EF9 Civic, I'd happily take that over an E30 (heresy I know) but as a JDM car it was on par with the E30 in finish and interior and infinitely more technologically advanced. Our domestic Civics however were below an E30 in quality
ahh.... im going to have to disagree with you there. the civic interior looks pretty atrocious. i dont care how good the fit and finish is, you cant fix ugly.
i think this is one of the better jdm interiors from the early 90s and i still think the e30 interior is better.
oh ok, sorry for the confusion. But its rare if i delete a post. I usually keep them up to show what kind of person they usually are. Also i dont think the guy thought too far into his post. And hasnt came back for a reply yet either.
I don't get this "longevity vs. performance" debate.
Hondas and Toyotas break. Subies tend to blow motor mounts about as often as I fart.
Meanwhile, my 1989 325i has over 300k miles (280k on original engine) and it's a somewhat competitive autoX car. The 1991 318is has 156k miles, and our "new" car, 2000 323iT, has 140k.
Nothing runs that long with requiring some repairs.

I'm fine with that. Just had to go on record as finding those comments to be unacceptable here (or anywhere else for that matter). End of subject.
Thanks

This reminds me of the argument I had with a former boss who is an Audi guy. He could not be convinced that a RWD car could be just as fast around a track as an AWD car if both cars were setup the same. I didn't really take a side, but was more of the opinion that there was a lot more to it then just AWD vs RWD.
Basically, the argument is stupid and you need to get more intelligent friends.
Your friend is a ricer, and has a small mind capacity to be able to hold on to such a silly belief without considering anyone else's opinions. Taking this so much to heart makes you seem a bit silly as well.
If he is harassing you on your phone about 'homos' and how Japanese cars are superior to Euro cars then I would likely cut off contact with him. He's an idiot and not worth the time to care about.
I hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.
^^It looks like your E30 has PDC. Do you have any good stories about people trying to steal the ITR? A few of my friends (ITR owners) have shared some very entertaining stories with me. I've always liked them, but the number of Hondas that get stolen and chopped for parts has kept me from that route..
It might be more of a US thing than an Aussie one although my brother went to sell his ITR about 9 years ago and got knocked out and carjacked by a prospective buyer. Mine's a garage queen and always alarmed (as is the garage). It's never been stolen or broken into but that's why the E30 is my DD
If you're talking cheap horsepower and performance, the winner is anything with a small block ford or chevy. They're lackluster and boring, but a Cobra or a SS, per dollar will be quicker then nearly any DTM or JDM. The emphasis being per dollar. 6k will get you a SN95 Cobra, 3300lbs 300hp, hard to match with 6k of import. Trick is thats not the deciding factor in the long run, its all about what floats your boat, if it was the same for all of us, well how boring would that be?
