Some cars do look better with 4 doors although it's highly subjective. I just don't think the E30 is one of them.

I don't think some of you realize that the cubic interior space is identical between 2 and 4 doors.

I like 5 doors too.. and more usable interior space than a coupe or a sedan.

Ok, but its much easier to access that space with 2 extra doors.

I've always preferred the look of a two door anything over four door. With E9xs and E46s the roof lines just don't work for me with four doors, they're too long and then end abruptly. It just doesn't flow well. I don't even care about E36s, they don't do anything for me. I'll agree that a well done four door E30 looks pretty classy, but I'll always prefer a well done two door to a well done four door. The practicality issue doesn't bother me, I'm young and nimble so working around the front seats isn't an issue. People in the back seat have just as much room, it's a little more work for them to get in. Oh, and the driver should never ever be the one to get out to let people into the back. The driver gets to stay put and the passenger is the one that has to move his ass.

As for tourings, if they're designed well out of the factory I like them. Most wagons are pretty meh, but the Germans have a way with them. Part of their popularity here in the states is surely due to their rarity, but the first E30 touring I saw before I knew shit-all about E30s looked damn good and I had no idea they were uncommon.

Mines a coupe I love the way it looks, but I also love the look of the 4 door, both are awesome in my book.

                          2 door CTS-V is hideous.

The sedan CTS-V is definitely better looking, imo.

Been contemplating what I'd get if I had the funds to replace the e30 and honestly I think it would have to be a hard top roadster, since I literally NEVER use my back seat.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

One thing I did not see mentioned was insurance prices anywhere in this thread. Many manufacturers will have a "back seat" just to reduce the cost of insurance and the preconceived notion that more doors and seats are safer.
