Nothing special, if you like it, cool, just be prepared that noone else will. For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!Originally posted by mbonanniI hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.

I would swap headlights, fix the fogs, maybe some wheels with covered centers to hide the 4 lug. Looks decent otherwise.- Josh

They must have been originally designed for this orientation, but late one night the designer got really drunk and mixed them up, along with everything else on the E36.

This thread is so full of "duh" it's not even funny.
That car is ballin'. If you take the square lights and the trunklid off, then it loses all of its character. Why not just tell the OP to get rid of the fenders, drop it and tuck the bumpers??
It's clearly not an M3 in any way, shape or form. It's obviously been majorly modded, and while it might not be what's cool nowadays, it is what it is. I'd keep as much of it as possible the same as it is now, just clean it up a bit and follow up on some neglected maintenance and it should be a reliable, unique car.
Those trunklids were sold for many BMW's back in the late 80's-early 90's. Not really "cool", but it goes with the square headlight conversion perfectly IMHO.
EDIT: Here are some pics of an E34 with the same type of decklid.

Because the only 2.8's that hartge put in an E30, was NOT an M20.
The only Hartge built M20's were based off of the 323i, and have the 323i intake manifold, which yours does not.
Here's the hartge 2.8l engine, on the left.
Here's the hartge 2.6l M20. Notice the 323i intake manifold.
You sir, have a 325ic with a hartge strut bar, Hartge valve cover, and a bunch of added stuff. Nothing more.
Much like I bought a 325e with a bunch of hartge stuff. It was just a 325e, and nothing more.
So yeah, Your engine is as much of a hartge engine as mine was, and it looked like this.
If your dead set on finding out, pull of the intake manifold. The head will have a hartge casting mark if it is indeed a hartge engine. I dare you to actually dig into the car itself, instead of relying on internet speculation, and prove me wrong.Last edited by TurboJake; 03-09-2012, 11:21 PM.
