            im not gonna lie, i love a good b*saint thread. and this one delivered.

            the answer is really yes and no. no displacement stays the same, but yes you do suck in more air. more air means more fuel mans bigger bang. so you wont displace as much as a V8, but you probably suck just as hard ;)

                  If the amount of air moved changes your view of the displacement of an engine, then it would be equally valid to argue that cams change the displacement. It's best not to go down that route. It's not really descriptive or meaningful. FI is just a way of cramming more air in.

                  And for the record, I hate the way that BMW has decoupled the model numbers from displacement.
