I assemble shocks at Motion Control Suspension, which as you may or may not know used to be 'Moton' until the Moton name was bought out by AST. I work for people who have designed suspensions for cars that won the FIA World GT, WTCC, and several other touring car championships.

Do you build suspensions for one of the best suspension companies in the world? No? I build these suspensions every day.

I don't think the REAL argument is the quality overall of BC, but the quality vs the dollar value. Why pay 1k for something when you can buy the same product for a lot less? I would totally roll on some BC... but for $1k I can find something better.

That's pretty fucking awesome, really, I do mean that. I wish I had an opportunity to run a suspension like that on my car(s). I might not be the best, but i'm a second away from setting a lap record in my class, which might say something if it weren't for a full second being a big bitch.

I do apologize for my dumbassedness today... had so many issues with other people's cars over the weekend that I'm epically pooped/tired and apparently extremely cranky and unable to think straight. I've been up since Saturday morning (4am) getting to the track and all.. I'll check back later when I actually get some sleep in.

Nope. I am not arguing or saying they are a bad part. As said above when you can get CX Racing made by the same parent company with all the same parts(but they are black/blue or purple/black) for 650... why spend 1K? I'd roll around on them too but I track my E30 on Bilstein Sports, Ground Control Conversions and camber plates. I know what I am getting there and turn a decent time in my car. I'd rather spend less and have that then spend 1K on BC.

Very true! Almost everyone has an e30 at GC

BC coilovers are shit, anyone that says other wise is trying to sense of his retarded purchase. Wanna know why they did not know anything about the suspension? because they don't know shit. Call up Ground Control, Mark owns one and they know HOW they react on our cars. So spend a little more and do it right the first time. Want more advice? buy the 1,500 kit and get the whole shebang.

                    Hopes this helps:

GC it is. So with option 3, I'd have to send in my existing strut housings for modification? Shipping is always a bitch, but it seems like it would save me a headache.

That is correct. That is the route I went. Comes back looking nice, powdercoated and reinforced.

You have have no idea what you're talking about - e30s aren't tiburons, they respond well to stiff rates, and you DEFINITELY want the rear springs stiffer on the rear (approximately 50% due to wheel rates), NOT stiffer up front or equal.

The rates being the same front/rear are for stance monkeys, not the other way around. It says a lot about the BC brand that they don't know even the basics of e30 suspension geometry and that they'd try to convince you to NOT run proper front/rear rate bias.

Spring length has no meaning on an e30, either.

Correct, just get the 1,500 kit and be done with it. Comes with everything you need to be properly low and stance'd. Been running GC for almost 4 years now. Amazing product and people/service. Jay and Mark are outstanding guys and know their shit.

I suggest you call them up and talk over what you want to do. Then they can help you with what strut housing style you wanna do.
