OP, I understand why you came on here. You were just trying to get some info on the patent process as to not get screwed.

HOWEVER with this being an open internet forum we see a lot of shit and 99% of the time it can't be backed up. So you are subject to ridicule

Hey guys can you help me get a patent for this new engine I invented. It uses two pistons for each cylinder and the top one only moves to adjust the compression ratio. The valves are pneumatic and are attached to the top head pistons so no need to worry about timing belts. Also it has no head gasket which is the weakest part of the engine and it should last for over a million miles. I have not built a prototype yet but by my math it should be getting around 300 HP per liter and 200 MPG. Let me know what you guys think.

geez man, dropping the military card. not needed. but even before a lawyer i would do the poor mans patent (not even sure if its still valid) but my dad always told me if you had a great idea and alot of the details you could mail it to yourself and as long as it is in a sealed envelope with the postal services stamp and date on it, its technically yours at that date.

yes you can do that, that's what they teach you in college.
but if you invent something while at school or while working somewhere they have rights to that idea. it's bullshit but they can get money out of it if you making mills off it.
a couple thousand I don't think they would bother.
Seek a patent attorney, don't even know why you would comeon here asking us.

It should be fine, the unicorn blood is pretty thick but with the magic particulates it produces a 0% friction coating between two moving parts.

Thanks, I forgot to draw the injectors in. It will use direct injection and they will be in the center of the top piston, you can also pre mix N2O (Nos) before it gets to the injector for a +100HP gain.
