Please mark me down for one in a darker color. If you want money in advance I would be more than happy!

cool, that's fair play. with the effort you're going to, i'm sure people will want emblems that fit to finish off the knob perfectly...just for information, the thickness of the emblems i can do are 1mm....if you're going deeper than this, then they may look a little lost...

i'll stop messing up your thread now:D

Hey guys and girls. Just wanted to check back in and say I'm still here and working on this. I'm living on about $25/day right now on student aid and such and I need to order a 17/32 drill bit before I can keep going. Yeah I know, it's a $20 investment but that's literally my food for one day.
Just hang in, and Ill be back with some knobs soon.
              Thanks guys!

Ok. I got my drill bit in today. How ever, I am rethinking the set screw. I really don't like the insert and how it looks with the rest of the knob. I did a shity job of drilling the hole for this insert, even with a nicer hole it would look bad.

So I went to the hardware store and looked around. I found these colors with set screws in them.

The question now is how do I fix the color on to the knob?
The best saluting would be if the color had a flange on the top that could slide into the knob and be glued into place.
Anyone know of any flanges colors? I looks through the McMaster catalog but did not see anything.
If I can't figure out the color idea I am going to order some of these flanges inserts for set screw. The flange will help clean up the look of the mating surface.
                        Knock in threaded insert

                        Any ideas?

^That would be awesome but, it requires drilling through the side.

Also, did you mean to say: collar?

Yeah my bad. I spell by sound a lot and it lets me down quite a bit.
That's a good idea, but I am trying to avoid having a set screw set in the wood. Even with a threaded glued on insert I feel like it looks bad, and some one is going to torque it down to much and bust it up, and then blame me.
I need some like the bras sleeve in the shifter above but attached to a collar with a set screw.
